I honest believe that fuel cost will be the least of the problems compared with the social disarrangement that electrification is/will be causing.
Electrification is not advancing because it brings benefits to humanity but instead, it is advancing by brute force of the powers in place.

That is/will be causing the rise of prices everywhere and making not only possessing a Motorhome difficult for most people but everything else more expensive to acquire, including basic energy, etc .

As an example, the guy that could buy a truck 20 years ago and build his plumbing company based on it can't anymore because truck prices went through the roof and that because of the same mentality that is driving electrification....

Back to the cost theme:
Videos in youtube show that towing a camper with an electric car consumes ~0.8kwh/mile, and that is with a tesla car. If you have a bigger truck, like a 3/4 ton, power consumption will be more, lets say, 1kwh/mile.
That means you need a 500Kwh battery to have an electric truck that could tow 500 miles.
If you use Alibaba, the price for LifePo batteries is ~ $360/kwh which makes a 500Kwh battery cost ~ $180000.00....
This is not considering all the power electronics involved in controlling that kind of electric power....
And that is the cost for the least expensive electrification solution...
If you get into Hydrogen fuelcells, you will need the same line of credit Nasa has....

Point is you may "save the environment" going electric but you will be destroying humanity.

Petrol isn't being phased out.
Electric is being phased in.

Steam
Electric
Wood gas
Turbine
Diesel small cars
Evo electric
Failed Australian electric car with battery exchange stations(look it up. NO ONE wants to talk about that)
Air pressure
Hydrogen
And now
Electric again.

All fail/failed except two stroke vs four stroke gas.

A hill,
west to east to Williams
Wolf creek, and the like
Smoky mountains

These 100% negate electric and show the immense silliness of it.

10 hours at a charge station to add 160 low speed flat surface miles to a vehicle is what is REAL right now.
We're an
Alien space invader technology
Leap away from electric vehicle practicality outside of amzingly flat and groomed roads.

We must ignore the mining and waste to make electric anything but laughable.

And
The ugly secret not told:
Anyone who has an electric vehicle(outside if someone truly urban) also has a gas vehicle due to the impracticality of an electric vehicle.
The electric has a gas car as a pet or the gas car has an electric pet.
Or not.

Challenge the church.
Faith is not foundation.

Don't want to deviate the discussion from the topic but ICE engines are being phased out by law.
EPA have a strong grasp on engine development nowadays and the only thing that the pursue of lowest carbon emission is doing is adding cost to the engines so by default it is being/will be phased out in the future because "people cant afford it"...

If the market is let alone, most vehicles in America would have a V8 push rod in the likes of the Ford Godzilla, which is a very cost effective solution.

But not all is lost: I have two teenagers at home and they all liked Tesla... Until they started to drive and now the discussion moved to turbos, NOx, etc
Good thing they know CO2 is plant "food" ...

But do they know that maybe young forests and plants are net carbon makers and only Supremely old plants are carbon absorbtive UNTIL they die, then they re-release?

They're just sponges.
It isn't magic.

Or not.

I don't want to look it up because many here will know and I'd like to hear from them:
Where are those Australian electrics and where are the first generation prius/leaf et al cars in relationship to their gas powered same year cars?

Yes, they where born in Brazil and know how the forest work.
They also know that geology proves that when CO2 was more abundant in the atmosphere, all the plants where bigger ...
to add to that, we now live in Indiana and they know that a green house is a good thing for plants... We love big tomatos and the ramble of a V8!!!

This thread has drastically moved off topic from Class A pricing to the merits of electric vehicles and energy. As a result the thread is no longer valid to the OP’s topic and is being closed.
