I was not sure how adhesive the adhesive is on the Dynamat so I cleaned all surfaces with glass cleaner and let dry, then sprayed 3M 77 glue on the surface before applying the Dyanmat. Using a wall paper roller to work it in. Works great and nothing has come loose yet over the last year.

I am about to purchase a 2023 Windsport 29M. And I have read with interest the comments of everyone about the noise and heat from the doghouse. I guess my questions are is the doghouse easy to remove for a novice? Is the material under the doghouse staying in place for those who have installed it? Are there other areas, that can be insulated. Does Ford approve of the insulation under the doghouse? Why don’t the manufactures put it there to start with?

We purchased a 2020 Thor Challenger new in 2020. One of the first things we did was apply the Dynamat under the doghouse. Mine had about 4 screws holding it in place and was easy to remove and cut and apply the Dynamat. Took maybe an hour. Greatly reduced heat and noise but nothing will totally eliminate. I also recommend steering stabilizer, front and rear anti sway and heavy duty shocks if the unit doesn’t already have these installed.

Does Ford approve of the insulation under the doghouse? -Yes, just like insulation under the hood of a car, truck, or van.
Why don’t the manufactures put it there to start with? - They do, but it's minimal and usually poorly installed.

The other areas to insulate are under the flat areas of the cab where the seats are attached. Some even buy horse stall mat and cut it to fit on top of the floor in that area.

There are several threads on this, most are very happy with the results. 3 years in the mats are still working well.
Under the doghouse, removed most of the bubble wrap installed by Thor and then installed two layers, one of the thin rubber style right next to the doghouse and then another layer of the foam over that works. The thin rubber style helps with vibration and low noise, the foam with other noise.
At the front of the engine in front of the doghouse Ford has a small space surrounded by metal. Thor built on top of this. Installed the foam in this area on the three sides and it made a big difference.
Behind the hood and under the dash Thor just installed plywood, installed foam here on the underside and it was more great results.
Also added some over the wheel wells on the underside of the floor AND directly behind the engine over the Cat converter. Over the CAT cut down on the heat when we stop for the night.
Recently added a 2nd mud flap that is installed at the top of the existing one and arches up and over the top of the wheel, attached with screws to the underside of the floor. I was surprised how much difference this made with the road noise.
Good luck...

Interesting about the mud flaps. After we insulated our doghouse and floor area underneath our cab, we could hear the tires more than before.
Each step removes more noise.
Thanks for the tip.

Couple more of the mudflaps on each side and the under dash foam insulation.

Went to a Diesel Pusher, that solved it for us.
