Are you kidding? I’m not crawling all over this rig for an entire day to wax it. I’m paying a neighbor kid $100 while I sit in a chair on the sidewalk and supervise. Honey! Bring me another beer please!

But New York will allow you to transfer ownership to a family member without paying any sales tax.

Same in Indiana. I sell to my family member for $1.00 and pay 7 cents in sales tax. :-)

I knew a kid who figured the system out...
He went to Pennsylvania, and bought an ATV, but put the paperwork in his Dad's name.
Since it was an out of State sale: PA,collected no sales tax,
Back to NY; his Dad "transfers" ownership to the kid, and he registers it.
ZERO sales tax paid.
Brilliant!

Maybe if you ran the purchase through a New York Nursing Home. Perhaps Coumo would underreport the tax?

I do not know if you have a home or any equity in it but if you do a HELOC has much better rates than RV loans. I can get a HELOC from the credit union for 1.99% for 1 year and then it goes to 3.5%.
