Suggestions

There are two things that would improve the forums for me. I don't know if either is possible.

One is a button (thanks or like button) to let someone know you appreciate their post without have to make a whole new post.

The other is a way to bookmark a particular post.

I can bookmark a particular thread by subscribing it to it. However I still have to dig through it to find the post. The only other way that I can think of is to it make a text file on my computer to store a link to the thread and a post number. That would require work on my part, which I attempt to avoid if at all possible. Is there another easier way?

I would like a "button" when I want to Start a NEW post. I have the worst time trying to find where I need to be to do this. I have posted before occasionally but can't get there tonight!!! HELP is appreciated.

Each post has a number (top line with date on far right) - this is a LINK to that particular post... Click on it - and then bookmark the resulting page. Will bring you right back to that post.

Well... You do have to select the correct forum (or overall topic) - like this thread being in 'Forum Admin and Announcements'... Once in the forum (list of all threads) - the 'New Thread' button is at the top left.

This one is possible - but needs an admin to install and enable... There are plugins available for vBulletin (the forum software we are using) that add a LIKE button to posts.

Last request I opened (just recently) using the 'Contact Us' at the bottom of the page was acknowledged with a 'Thanks for your suggestion.' and closed with no other feedback... They gave me a link to view my request - which requires a forum admin id/password to view - not very helpful...
And all I was trying to get them to do was change a setting to enable an already installed feature... and offering my assistance.

You know, I think I knew that once. Thanks a lot. I think I've reached the age where every time something new comes up, something old drops off the stack.

I am not sure how or why but I seem to get an email every time something is posted to a thread I have posted on.. so finding relevant posts has not been an issue.. as for the smiley button.. on my screen right now to the right are a bunch of smily things, emocons? I will click on one now or two or three..

Those are "subscribed threads" in your profile you can specify if you automatically subscribe to threads when you post to them. To get there click on "User CP" at the top left of the menu at the top of any page. Then once there you'll see the list of subscribed threads. To change the auto subscribe setting click on "Edit Options" on the left on that screen and change the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" about 1/2 way down.

You can also manually subscribe to a thread from the menu at the top of any thread (click the drop down "Thread Tools" then click "subscribe to this thread").
