e450 air ducts on 2017 thor axis

The two air ducts on the front of the 2017 Thor axis engine are cracked worn through and need replacing. Rather than trying to replace the entire ducts Im thinking about cutting back the bad portion of the ducts and trying to splice in a new section using a portion of new ducting and some sort of connector to connect them. Has anyone had any experience doing this?

Just tape(aluminum duct tape) on a new section where you need a new section.
No connector, new to old, needed or Maybe a couple of taped on popsicle sticks to align.

Post 102 in my signature thread shows an easily added hepa filter.

The tape was still holding just fine a year+ later when I finally made a box for the filter (which I promptly broke)

Ahh the KISS method, no connector needed. Thanks Duckface. Appreciate the help.

My hose was doing same thing as yours. Just replaced with this…

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07...b_b_asin_title

Had to splice in near the air distribution box next to firewall becuz I’m unable to unscrew the steel hose clips, lack of access. I used aluminum sleeve of same size from Hardware store + duct tape.

If you want all new ducting from end to end You may need to cut the hose clips with a Dremel, a large mirror & good flashlight.

The 2nd photo is taken from the access panel above the battery box (aka below passenger side desk) as a reminder on how to properly route the replacement hose.
