Sorry, did not mean to offend. You’re right, plastic tubs on plastic floor of the mega-storage compartment doesn't provide enough friction to keep things from sliding around.

When loading for a 5,000-mile trip, I first tried using roll of non-slip material, but when I moved plastic tubs around, it bunched up and made a mess — too much work.

I had some left over carpet from home project and cut a piece that just fit inside compartment (roughly 4’X8’). The carpet backing was stiff enough that it didn’t bunch up when I moved plastic tubs in and out, yet provided enough friction to keep things in place — at least nothing got damaged.

Storage compartment

Be careful about overloading those "roto molded plastic compartments. They don't have any framing underneath and are attached by short sheet metal screws. If you put heavy stuff in them they will deform in warm weather and or separate from the side wall!

The 28A has a fabricated Mega-size compartment in rear that can handle a lot of volume, and I suspect weight also as long as it doesn’t affect motorhome handling.

The floor is made up of a 4-foot-long folding table that you’d want to remove for use as needed (on my rentals they have been on passenger side) and in middle between chassis rail extensions there is a compartment for a spare tire. It’s really nice. I like the 28A a lot except at +/- 30-feet is too large for us when traveling alone. We prefer owning much smaller for touring and renting a larger motorhome when needed — and haven’t in years. The rear Mega compartment alone must be around 100 cubic feet of volume. It’s roughly 4-ft front to back, about 3-ft tall, and all the way across MH (~8-ft).

Ok, so I have my fix for the MEGA storage compartment. There are two "L" beams running down the length of the box that the bumper and trailer hitch are attached to. The roto-box sits right on these beams. They are on either side of the spare tire compartment. I wanted to go with https://www.uscargocontrol.com/ with their black L-track, but since I don't really need to, at this point, vary my anchor positions, I went with D-rings from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and stopped by Lowes for 1/4 x 1 1/2" self tapping metal screws.
I placed the D-rings at 1' intervals along the L-beam and put two at each side door opening. These are going to be strong enough to keep our plastic totes from sliding around!
Damn this is fun!

So, the maiden voyage of the 28A was pretty successful! The tie downs worked perfectly. One thing that didn't work perfectly, in fact not at all, was the water heater! I think we lost the control board because it would not make hot water on propane or the generator. Checked fuses/breakers, looked at it, jiggled the wires, nothing. Have a replacement board on order and hopefully will get it before our next outing in a couple of weeks.

Glad to read that everything (except the water heater) worked as planned.

No, I called up the dealers repair shop and at first the guy wanted to arrange a time to bring it in. When I told him all of the diagnostics that I had done, he asked me to take pictures of it and he was going to order the control board. Then, I'll have to take it in for them to install it.

Is one of the items you carry with you a multimeter? You did not mention checking for proper voltage on the board. Just asking!

It was sitting on my work bench asking me to take him along on the trip. I should have listened!

Since I had nothing from either propane or 110v, I figured it wasn't an electrical problem, but a board problem.
