Correct, the factory uses the “crimp butt connectors”.

Yes they are closed end connectors except for the ground ones for some reason.

I mentioned to tape them when used in an RV due to vibration. No where else. Stab lock receptacles are rated for residential 15 amp #14 copper wire only. Not for larger wire, higher amperage nor commercial work. They are approved by the National Electrical Code and National Electrical Manufactures Association. You may not like them but that does not negate their use or viability. I personally do not like Ram trucks but they sell lots of them and some people are actually happy with them.

" many tried to leave the metal boxes without a support that was nipped real fast."
What in the world does that mean?

Like I said=small remodel jobs that do not require engineering or architectural changes or structural changes are different. A job of any size, design build or otherwise requires engineering in most jurisdictions.
By the way-design build was my bread and butter. Design build means they were designed and built by qualified people. Not tradesmen from other disciplines. I personally would not try to design plumbing or HVAC because an electrical engineer is not qualified. Neither is a GC qualified to design or specify electrical work. You may have gotten away with it in your jurisdiction, but you would not in most. Or you worked with inexperienced workers who could be bullied.

I am officially done with this subject. Like I said before, nothing personal. Just real life experience.

Bill

No problemo, there were people in all trades that try to get away with things and it was my job to be sure ALL trades complied. Being knoweldgable in all aspects of the trades makes a good Superintendent.

4 square metal boxes screwed to metal studs without having any support so when you pushed a cord into the receptacle it would break the face plate. That is an un supported box.

Another good one was using a standard mud ring screwed to a stud for low voltage and not buy the proper Caddy MP1. That caused bulging drywall. Did it work? YUP but caused a bulge
fracture in the drywall and caused another trade more work.

So anyway Bill is correct the Wabo is rated to do the job. I personally like all the wires to touch as much as possible as in twisted together and compressed with a "Wire Nut".

An update. We have not had OTA tv since I fixed the burned wiring. But this connection has been a problem from day one. As when we ran a water pic or a hairdryer in the bathroom plug. The TVs signal would deteriorate. Then the signal would return to normal when water ever was being used in the bathroom was done drawing power from the bathroom plug. Now that it is fixed and the wires are secured the problem is gone.
