I haven't used a CB for the last 4 years as I couldn't find anyone to chat with. There was a time when it was road entertainment as well as a safety device. Rarely do you see CB antennas anymore. It's even tough to find somewhere to mount one in late model vehicles.

Welcome to the forum.

Most truckers have gone to 10 Meter setups instead of traditional CB channel 19. Even so, there is still the garbage mouths going on 24/7. With everything digital and on every device we have, the need for that communications has died. I do carry my YAESU FT-60 everywhere with me. HAM will be the last man standing. I search for and log the Relay Stations in the areas I travel in case of emergencies or catastrophic communication failures. Ham will get out anywhere, regardless of the lack of cell or satellite service. A little overkill, but that's my nature. Survival Specialist.

This song (and movie!); might have been what wrecked CB radio...
Haven't touched one in 40 years.

Welcome to the Board

Got one of my Gold Wing trike but it is used mostly for the weather channels and group rides. Don't have one on the MH, yet!

Don't think I've ever owned a CB. My father had one in the van we used to drive to Florida on vacation.

3...the rest are 40. My collection started in 1971 with a 1968 GTO with truck mounted antenna. Even had electric antenna on a 1976 Cougar replaced with the dual power AM-FM/CB antenna. I was a real "Bandit". Still have every one!!

Gritz, you are totally dating yourself! I did have a CB in my Jeep Wranglers back in the day, but that started in '99. Haven't had one in about 10 years now.

Long story really short. I throw nothing away. I live in a 4400SF home on 6 acres with a full 12' basement. We just bought our 1,000SF retirement home in PCB. Now...I've gotta find places for all these years of stuff!! And the wife says...OH, NO...NOT DOWN THERE!!! And YES, I've been everywhere, man!! Got lots of T-Shirts!!

There are places that will make the T-Shirts into a quilt. 1 thing instead of a ton of things.

Just went through that with a family member: Moved from 2700+ sq ft to 650..got rid of tons and tons and tons of stuff. Made me rethink some of the stuff I've been keeping. That's all it is "Stuff".
