Black & Grey 2/3 light doesn't work, but 2/3 works for Fresh, LP and Battery

For both the grey and black, when they are in the 2/3 realm, when you press the button, the 2/3 light will say on for about a half second, maybe a second, and then go off. It stays lit much longer than say something that's on empty or 1/3 and all the lights come on for a really fast blink and then only the correct light stays lit.

The same bank of lights show LPG, battery and Fresh and the 2/3 works correctly on that one.

Any thoughts on what could be common about black and grey 2/3 light, but not the other three things the monitor panel monitors?

Keep in mind that the sensors are just probes in the side that measure some resistance to ground. As the fluid level rises the resistance changes.

Thus anything stuck to the side of the tank that changes that value can introduce really funky readings.

Typically I see the 2/3 light flashing like that when the fluid level gets close (when they are operating correctly). Most of the time, however, they don't operate correctly.

And even when they are “operating correctly” many times they are not correct,
