Campsite photos

This is one website I like to look at to see some of the campsites. I also use google earth and keep a log on good ones for the future.

Doc...I googled dispersed camping and there it is ! Of course, google knew I was in KS, so it addressed all the dispersed camping in KS.
Then, I googled dispersed camping in Colorado...oh my..it gives a person all you want to know...or, the best spots.
Going to check some other States of interest.

We are, already planning our next trip, in September to CO !

Wowsers,

Just went to "Dispersed Camping in NC"...all kinds of places and all kinds of options!!

Looks like I have some homework to do to plan our second trip for mid-August.

Heading to Ga this Friday for a weekend at Lake Lanier and then Woodstock Ga.

Then first weekend in August going to Tn with the Dixie Traveliers for our first Rally!

Doc

A state park weekend ... Farewell Bend ... a little oasis on a hot weekend. Nice to have electricity to power the AC The campground was quiet, lots of shade, private and very nice place to spend a few days. Here's a couple pictures taken from a chair sitting at our campsite...

Smile June/July Washington DC trip at Cherry Hill Park in Maryland

This summer we took our 2016 Axis 25.1 from our home in Riverside, California to Michigan and then on to the DC area for our NEA Representative Assembly and we stayed at the Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, Maryland. It was very easy to get to the Metro Station each day to be at our meetings and we had fun sightseeing too!! It was great to come to the motorhome each night. The drive across the country was very easy. We added a sway bar and had it aligned in May and it has made it possible to drive with one hand when necessary. We are very happy we made this purchase last summer.

Cherry Hill Park is the best...

We just got back from Cleveland--a city that surprised us a lot (it could show our hometown a thing or two).

Stayed at the Streetsboro/Cleveland SE KOA. Yeah its about 30 min away from downtown Cleveland..as someone mentioned: It just close enough, and just far enough away Very nice people.

We went north this summer and stayed at a TON of gorgeous places. Here are a couple of my favorites:

This is in a little town called Garibaldi, OR, just north of Tillamook. The RV park was connected to a little motel and didn't have anything but million dollar views. We only overnighted there, but I could have sat and watched the water go in and out for days.

This was early morning, when the tide was out. Way out there, beyond the dock, are people clamming.

This is at Grayland Beach State Park, in Grayland, WA. Apparently it's one of the most popular state beaches in the state. We camped there for 2 nights with friends. Besides the tree-protected sites there are sites that are wide-open, surrounded by grasses, and quite windy.

It does my soul good to see such beautiful country, and being able to actually sleep in the middle of it with our RV is even better.

We stayed close to home this past weekend and went to Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna, VA. It was nice to enjoy their water park in the 98 degree heat. If you want to know what a turd feels like take a trip through their toilet bowl water slide.

Our site was right across the road from the water park and poolside grill.

Yes, that state park was in Oregon (way east). It's on the bend of the snake river where it turns and goes north into Hells Canyon. The center loop spots have big trees and hedges dividing the spots ... the other two loop sections are without hedges and the far loop looks newish with small trees etc...

We've been out over a month in our Axis and I thought I would post our two favorite campgrounds in our trip. The first is Las Petacas on uS 64 four miles east of Taos, NM. Nine sites in a canyon by a little stream. A USFS site with no facilities except a pit toilet. $6 a night, half for old folks. Paid $9 for three nights and it was beautiful. Empty during the week but full on the weekend. Easy drive and easy parking in Taos.

The second campsite is where we are now off of I-70 about 20 miles west of Vail, Colorado. The campground is Wolcot, a BLM site on the river, in a beautiful canyon. 6 sites @ $10 a night (half for old folks). We are here for a week over Labor Day weekend. Lots going on close to here including an October Fest and local concerts. Another pit toilet as the only facility. Close to I-70, there is not a lot of room in this canyon to get very far away, so there is some road noise. An abandoned RR line runs by the campsite, so you can walk along the tracks for miles in either direction. Good trout fishing in the river and saw a bald eagle today.
