Drivers seat

We have a 2019 Ace 30.4 The dealership is telling me that a drivers seat cost about $1500 to $2000. Does anyone know where I can get one that doesn't cost this much. The seat is just a standard one. No power. Thanks

Welcome Randy

What is the issue with the seat? It isn't very old.

Paul

Drivers seat

The left arm came off and the seat leans to the right. I understand that is an issue with Thor seats. We bought this RV used. It was a rental. Thanks for all of your comments

I think the arms are removable and you should just have to push it back in upside down and twist or something like that.

For a while I could put the arm back on but now the inner workings where the arm goes into is messed up now and it just hangs there.

Ignore the dealer and get a replacement from else-weres. There are plenty of options.

Do you know who the manufacturer of the seat was?
I'd do an end run around the stealership, and find out what they REALLY cost...

I’m with the “check out new” crowd. Just do a search for RV seats and you’ll be overwhelmed by the choices at all price levels. If you plan to put many miles on don’t go too cheap...not only are cheap seats likely to fail they can be no fun at all on longer trips. If it was me I might even look into big rig seats.

Drivers seat

ACE 30.3 My seats are stock and in addition to not having the room to push back as far as I need it's hard! After 7 or 8 hours my butt is tired! I drove a super c last month with leather air seats. The most comfortable seat I have ever driven in! I f there were air systems in this bus I would look hard at those seats. Awsome

Same for me after driving several hours back and butt hurt. I talked to shop4seat and I will be ordering one from them. I have a friend in WI and he has 2017 ace 29 foot and he said that he has the same issue. His seat leans to the right too like mine.

Seat

Why dont you check out getting it redone. We had our seat redone and the guy replaced all the inner foam and adjusted it to where they sit nice and level. He recovered them with marine grade vinyl for $300.00 each seat. We took them out, took them to his shop and it took him a week and we picked them up ad put them back in. They are sooo comfy now.

I bought my ACE 30.4 2019 new and it leaned to the right from the beginning. Would love to replace with a more comfortable, and level, alternative. It is SUPER overwhelming all the different choices. I would like power, heated, and some sort of suspension so I don't feel how badly is handles the rough roads.

I noticed my drivers seat feels like it leaning to the right, I have a bad back and after 3 hours of driving I have to apply some Lidocaine patches, has some one looked into what is actually going on, I thought about just adding some washers on the right side where it bolts to the pedestal, when I worked in a truck repair shop years ago some owners of Motor Homes would come in an want an air ride seat put in like what Peterbuilt uses in their road trucks, we had to mount a small 12 volt air compressor and a tank on the underside to supply the air, those seat were not cheap back then an I am sure they are a few thousand dollars today

You have to remember that the O.P. was quoted $1,500 to $2,000 for an OEM seat.

well this post got me to looking, a new Bostrom Air Ride seat for a new Peterbuilt starts at around $700.00 an goes up to over $1,400.00, then you have to add a air compressor and a tank but if you are handy that might be the way to go, the new OEM seat would be the same piece of junk Thor installed, I also looked under the seat mounts through the outside cabinets to see if the floor was dipping in the middle and mine still looks straight, I might consider putting in a new air ride seat, the added weight of the seat might require you to add some supports on the underside. My coach is 3 years old and already the seat material is cracked and falling apart, the cost to recover over the cost to replace might be worth the effort.
