OK, let's talk about standard phraseology: When addressing the status of a battery disconnect it is either OPEN which stops current flow between the house batteries and the DC buss, or SHUT which connects the batteries to the DC buss.
I assume the "lights" you are talking about are the battery status lights on your display and control panel? Realize those lights are a simple narrow range voltmeter and only accurately displays battery status if you are NOT plugged into SP or running the Generator or MH engine. Otherwise, those items are charging the house batteries (if the disconnect is shut/closed) or in the case of SP or the Generator, supplying the DC buss with the Converter.
