You're scaring me with that picture.
Maybe I should stop dropping my curly fries, and just kicking them under the seat!

We have a 2018 Thor Four Winds Sprinter and it charges the house battery off of the engine alternator.

I had that problem. 2014 Thor Outlaw. On mine, and most, there is a battery control center. Mine is under the hood on the drivers side reads TH-1020 on the cover. In the box is a circuit board with fuses & relays, and behind that board is a relay/solenoid. They both work in conjunction to cross charge from the chassis (alternator) and the coach (shore or generator). My solenoid was bad, but I replaced the board while I was in there (long story with an unknowledgeable dealer). The solenoid will hook the 2 systems together to cross charge, and a portion of the circuit board controls when that will happen. Basically when one is running and providing enough charge to its' system (chassis or coach) it will then send voltage to the other system to charge it also. Is yours the same physically... I don't know, but the process is probably the same. Just need to find yours. Here is the video that gave me the courage to dig into mine..

On my 2016 AXIS 25.2, it’s located at right front of engine. Mine gave out in Death Valley ( scary) at night , high winds and very low visibility (sand/dust) Limped into Barstow and problem determined and 4 days later on the road. Be careful batteries have not weakened as had to replace mine 2 mos later as were too far gone after not getting charge I thought they were. Good luck

Old thread, great info my 2018 24fe alternator doesn't seem to be charging the house batteries, generator and shore power charges house batteries, going to use this info to troubleshoot, I just purchased the MH 3 weeks ago, after installing inverter I'm realizing the inverter runs out of power when microwave is run for then more 5 second, 2200w pure sine inverter, 2 lead acid marine batteries are for the house batteries, house batteries read 12.8v after shore power connection disconnected, engine running for more then 15min, chassis battery reading 14.3v.... house batteries still read 12.7v. After reading all this I'm more confused so on a 2018 freedom elite 24fe sprinter, where can I find these components? Should it have the components like Isolator, BIRD, trombetta? Thanks

A lot of the Mercedes chassis have these components under the drivers seat. Check all the warnings before you pull the seat. There is a very expensive wire that you do not want to damage. Check Thor’s connection to vehicle battery as well. Good YouTube videos on how to pull the seat. Good luck!

Remove the "Main Power" designation and replace it with "Battery Disconnect". " Main Power" in the RV world is 120 volt AC electric. Your battery is 12 volts DC. It is charged by the Converter when on "Shore Power" Lights are 12 volts. It does not kill the entire power. Safety voltage is still applied to CO, LP, Smoke detc, and stereo.
