In my RV, there are two means of egress. Front door and rear window. The planned exit is the one that is not blocked by the fire.

A second story fire escape rope ladder cut down will probably keep you from breaking your neck when trying to land on the ground after climbing out that rather high window.
I have one on my manlift but not yet in the RV.

Amazon.

It's amazing how some old people can't butter their toast without switching hands or taking a break...BUT...set their RV on fire and they leap small buildings with a single bound.

Me too,

I have added additional fire extinguishers in the RV. No sense being in the back and a fire breaks out in the front, and you are separated from the extinguisher by the fire.

I also think about children being able to unlock that front door with its multiple locks. On mine, not only do you have to get the locks in the correct position, you have to turn the handle and push out the door. I see the new interior lock handle has some symbols on it. Mine doesn't.

Sometimes i get the locks out of sequence exiting the RV at night. i also added an additional fire extinguisher under rear bumper. I would give a gasoline fire one good shot of HALON 1211 before I ran. 80 gal of fuel exploding would not be pretty.

great idea, Is this a kit, like below? That could be the difference in being burned on exit., A fire blanket wrapped around you. 20/20 vision won't work here. You need to be prepared, and hope this stuff gets old and never used.

I have the fire blankets in every vehicle I own. Have 4 in motorhome in various locations.

I also have several fire extinguisher. I found these smaller ones mainly for my wife who has bad arthritis in her small hands. Click image for larger version

A brother in law, with a 77 IQ, was never really anyone I associated with due to my vocabulary(though I can roll it back) and his drugs(which he can't roll back). Pleasantries and bbq's exchanged but that's about it.
He landed a job at a fire extinguisher place and remembered I had mentioned an eye-wash station I wanted but wouldn't pay for. He coughed one up, I retaliated, it turns out he's an excellent trader when not stoned.
I have sssooo many good, filled, out of date, 20lb'ers.. Maybe 15 of them scattered around, and he has fish finders and flir and wood planers.
Three 10lb'ers in the RV.

I'll buy the blankets, you buy the ladder.
Thanks for the tip.

I also noticed, the door handle and lock symbols are hard to see at night. I added a few simple arrows showing the direction of unlock knob and door handle operate in case of emergency, you would be surprised how a simple operation becomes complicated.

I've mentioned before my attempt to fashion an escape ladder and when actually using it (practice) found it unnecessary. My prior 36ft Dp- Going out the escape window, the drop after hanging from the window was only a few inches.
The sharp edge of the window opening has to be considered.. YMMV

Escape windows may hinge at the top and will have to be held up out of the way. Other windows release and fall off when opened past a certain angle. Should know what to expect for your rig. They stick if not exercised but be ready to catch them if they are the type that fall when you practice.

I have added an additional fire extinguisher, blanket and signage. This should be adequate to knock down a fire and smother just enough to make it to the exits. I figure most fires would start near the kitchen area, got it covered by both ends of RV..

Rear window

I have one of these at the rear window, it can be placed as high as you want. I use the rear hitch.
