Funny Size Comparison

At first glance I assumed the picture below had to be altered, but upon closer inspection it looks real to me. What do you think? Photoshopped?

The Classic GMC from the 70s looks like a toy when sandwiched between two Diesel Pushers, although it’s probably a 26-footer (most were), and about 9 feet tall to top of A/C.

From Wikipedia:

The motorhomes were built in either 23-foot (7.0 m) or 26-foot (7.9 m) length, with about 90% of the total production being the latter. The wheelbase from the front wheels to the centerline of the rear tandem pairs is 140 inches (360 cm) for the 23-foot (7.0 m) coach and 160 inches (410 cm) for the 26-foot (7.9 m) coach. All GMC Motorhomes are 96 inches (240 cm) wide and about 9 feet (2.7 m) tall including the usually-installed roof air conditioner. Interior head room is 76 inches (190 cm).

Gross vehicle weight rating for the 23-foot (7.0 m) coach was 10,500 pounds (4,800 kg) and 12,500 pounds (5,700 kg) for the 26-foot (7.9 m) coach. Most GMCs with factory interiors have a 30 US gallons (110 l) freshwater tank and a 30 US gallons (110 l) holding tank.

Note the space above the door on the far coach: A good 2' or even 3'--that is a big boy.

Also note the space above the door on the near coach: almost nothing above the door.

I think its just a trick of perspective and not photoshopped.

It's probably the result of the choice of lens that was used...

The GMC model in the picture should be the 26-footer, so about the same size as an Axis/Vegas, except for being about 2-feet lower. The 23-footers had entry door in different location.

The DP in rear is probably ~ 45-feet long and over 13’ high.

If so, why did you downsize?

Anyway, if I wanted to buy or restore one of these old GMC motorhomes, it would be difficult to choose between the 23- and 26-foot models. The proportions of the shorter units look really sharp to me even after 40 years. The smaller size looks sportier, almost like an oversized van; a little more automotive and less truck/bus based.

No doubt: they're a very pretty rig!
We actually didn't downsize... We bought the new rig to better suit our changed needs.
It might be five feet shorter than the Outlaw, but we actually gained interior space for our use. (The garage was nine, of the Outlaw's thirty-one foot length. )
