We're Done

After 30+ years of RV ownership we're calling it quits. Its been fun and sometimes frustrating but we're getting older and the past year hasn't been worth the trouble. So, goodbye all and safe travels.

Paul, Kate and Sunshine

I did the same on a consuming hobby.
Just quit one day.

Congratulations.
So...hotels or stay at home?

Hotels and cruises. No six months advance planning, just price line or Expedia and go.

Check out
Travel zoo
On line.

We would go to phoenix or vegas to catch a plane.

We stayed at Hyde Park in London. Address was 2 Hyde Park I think.
Last minute thing on travel zoo for $800 for 7days. I think the airfate was another $400 each, round trip and transfers to London.

Travel zoo is ssssooo good for cruises if you can do it with just two days notice. We did the west coast if Italy for about 1/5th the normal price because we could be on the boat the day after booking. It was supposed to be the next cruise on the boat the guy sunk while waiving at his girlfriend...but they broke out a new boat for us instead of cancelling.

We did the $49 mystery flights through I think southwest. You show up at the airport and they then tell you where youre going. It was a hoot.

I hope you live/love the
No planning
Thing.

Our travel zoo days were the most fun ever.

Paul and Katie,
Wishing you two much happiness on your next adventures. Sure wish you could have joined us in November for the upcoming rally. They do have a hotel

It was great meeting you guys. Please keep me/us updated on your trips and cruises

Jerry

Enjoy your changes and new travels! If you haven't already take the inside passage cruise to Alaska

Also recommend formal dining and Holland America

Were making changes this year taking the road less traveled

I used to have a hat that read:
Princess Cruises.

A total stranger walked up to me and said;

'Look princess, I don't care what you do in your private time, but that's Damn near soliciting here on a public beach!'

Since we need to go find new adventures, I booked a 7 day California coastal cruise on Princess (no hat). It's our gift to each other to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We'll might miss the motor home but new realities make us get creative about our travels.

New Chapter

Enjoy your next chapter in life. Rving isn’t what it use to be unfortunately.

How so?
For us it's identical to 1963 rv'ing but with better equipment, maps, more spaces available, better communication, more fuel stations, and much much much better roads.
We don't aggressively foist ourselves on other rv'ers so it can't be that the company was better.

Though,
I do dislike the whole

Difference

We started in 2007, whole lot less people Rving. It was a tight knit group of people that was always willing to help each other, had respect for each other, respect for the land and overall friendly people.

The Rv was a better quality too.

It was during the housing crisis.
Few had money to travel.

Buy back that old model RV that was so nice.

(Fifteen years ago our 75 year old rv'ers were 60. Our 65 group was 50. I'll say 59% of the folks then, are the same folks now and I'll say 75% of our now group were peers then)
