Air bags on Thor Class C?

Has anyone but Air bags on new Thor Class C rvs? I was just told we can not put air bags for lift on my 2021 Quantum. I need to lift the back end up some to keep from hitting the ground when parking it and in and out of some gas stations. Any ideas for some lift?? thanks

How much lift do you need?
Perhaps stiffer springs in the back would do the job?

This is a 4" kit... pricey, but it is for everything required...

Also, have a looksee at these videos of "the b hive" family RV... they went 6" and love it....

I have a Thor RB34 Magnitude on order right now, and as it is on the F550 chassis instead of the standard C on a E450 chassis, I have a lot less options however I did find a 2.5" lift at DBLDesign... I would prefer 4", but still looking as I have few months to go before my delivery date.

The B Hive:

LOLOL ROAD TRIP! ... Is that not why you have an RV? HehHee

The kit is a simple lift kit, the price listed for the 4" kit is $2,900.00 (plus shipping to you), and then you can have a local shop install...

I plan on doing my own install (I have done tons of lift installs for myself and others)....

Why won’t Firestone air helpers work? I had Ride Rights on as FR E 450 and the worked great.

Well I had it at the shop today to have air bags put on it, but it's a Thor and there is no room on the axel to put air bags on, the shop called the air bag company and they said the same thing, no air bag will fit Thor's.

According to the etrailer website there are a few brands of air helper springs that fit. Maybe call them up and discuss with them.

I installed the Timbren helper springs on my 2018 Chateau 31E, but they don't provide any lift -- they just help support the load.

That doesn't make any sense. Ford makes the chassis, not Thor. For your Thor I assume it's on a E-450 chassis the same one used by Forest River, Winnebago and a host of others. Forest River puts Firestone I believe on their model Forester with the 450 chassis.

The issue is where and how Thor mounts the body on some models. Many after market manufacturers just say no to Thor rather than checking to see if their products will work.

Here’s a photo of my E450 rear passenger leaf spring attached to the axel.
You can see the OEM “Spacer” between the leaf spring and the axel.
An aftermarket lift kit will include a 2-3” spacer along with extended U bolts.

(You can see on my rig the rear Sumo Spring. In order to allow for contact to the axel I had to fabricate a spacer block. This photo was taken with the rear hydraulic levelers raised so I could crawl underneath)

yes, you are right, Thor has some kind of brace in the way, so my shop could not get the to fit, and they advised me not to change it but cutting or adding etc.... thanks

That's good. If the coach doesn't need them no since trying to install. The more I learn about this motorhome the more I realize no one at that CW knew what they were talking about. Young kid sales guy with little product knowledge. Sales manager wasn't much better. I know that's common but I hate it when I know more about the thing than the dealer.

Another question unrelated to suspension, cabinetry. What type wood is used in. the cabinets? Hardwood or base soft wood? Are the cabinets printed with a pattern or stained. I didn't look closely for any repeating pattern.

I had PBS (Power Brake and Spring) in South Bend, Indiana redo my rear springs. They did a superb job. No more leaning driver side, and got the wheel well clearances where they needed to be which essentially lifted the rear end. No more dragging at the gas stations. Was reasonable and should last a long time.

Could put wheels on your hitch if you can't find anything else

Remember that lifting the back will shift some weight to the front. This should not be a problem, but you do need to be weighted to make sure. You may have to add some air to the front tires, but the added weight will give you more control in wind and passing trucks. Did this on my old Itaska class C and it really made a difference.

I contacted a Firestone dealer and they said if the motorhome has level jacks it will rip the bags apart. If it didn't it would only go up 1 inch with the bags.
