And you know Subaru does not allow recreational vehicle towing on newer model vehicles. I'm sure your owners manual will give you zero information on flat towing your Subaru except for short distances in an emergency with a tow rope.

I was under the understanding that GVWR was calculated with the vehicle containing passengers and cargo. Curb weight is the weight without passengers and cargo.
I my case, I do usually load extras in the Jeep - so I'm going to be something like 100# or less over CURB weight, but far under the GVWR - which in my case would bump the scale an additional 350#.
In my case, I looked at curb weight of our toad... which usually has a full tank of gas, lightly loaded cargo and no passenger weight.
