Again, just food for thought

And if you are needing to “top up” 6 tires after the winter bleed down it can take much of an afternoon! Lots of compressors are rated to a good pressure, and they may well get there, but they aren’t very happy about it. Or at least that was my experience before buying a more robust tool.

The issue is it takes a lot of storage space (on the road). It's bulky. But I can't swallow the price places are charging for the convenience of portables. I will eventually go to one of the much smaller/quieter/lighter one gallon hot dog compressors.

No doubt the Vair may do similar, but I can top off one tire from 77 psi to 82 psi in 10 seconds with my Makita.
I even used it a gas station once on one tire, they had air available but I did not wish to hassle to move from the pump. No one could hear what I was doing and I was done before they figured out what I was doing. Thus for topping off is all I ever needed to do, if I have flat or blow out, I have service that I call. I think for me the other real benefit is I can now fully winterized on the road. I use RV year around but winterized if I know temperatures will drop, but when they rise again, I wish to dewinterize and go knowing that if it gets really bad where I am going, I can blow things out and winterize on the road.

Dewalt
DEWALT make a battery operated one that shares a battery if you have other DEWALT tools. Just make sure whatever you purchase it has an ability to exceed the recommended inflation for the rear tires.

I purchased a portable 12V unit at Harbor Freight. Looks like the expensive
ViAir one. I changed the hose attachment to standard quick connect for attaching air line with an air chuck that worked on my hurricane 29m.
$39.00 for the compressor and $15.00 for hardware. No problem inflating to 90psi.
Way cheaper.

Be aware on how the compressor is powered (AC 120 volt, DC 12 volt) and that it can pump enough pressure for your specific tires in a reasonable time without burning up.
The ViAir they mention is a sweet compact unit if you can justify the price.
Fits all in a duffle bag size fabric case and not too heavy.

I prefer any small 120 volt compressor that can be plugged into an outlet.
Small enough to carry & use 24/7 while on the road.
Assuming you have an inverter on your rig + a 25’ extension cord, it’s simple to use and generally works fine to top-off your tires anywhere you’re stopped.
I don’t have this one, but there’s plenty to choose from under $50

Ditto on the DeWalt. It has a 20v battery so I use it on all my DeWalt tools. Quick and powerful and so easy to use. Dial up the pressure you want and let it go.

You'll remember what you bought when you are on the side of the road
in the middle of nowhere, spend the buck and go first class.

I actually agree with you, but why not only go 1st class, but get more than what you need than just being on the side of the road? How about winterizing, blow outs, and a ton of other home uses using all of your existing air tools with quick disconnects, pressure regulator; at 58 decibels you can run 24/7 because you have to struggle to hear it is running and oh yes by the way at less than half the cost of the Vair?
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-Q...312309202-_-N&
I bought mine a few months ago and Home Depot had on sale for $159
Note: It is NOT 12vdc but it is also less than 2 amps !!!!, I run mine on my 1000 watt inverter and it is very light and very quiet.

The OP asked "Anyone using an inexpensive air compressor to inflate rv tires? Need some suggestions"
I think all of the suggestions will inflate tires. So in a real sense it becomes what will the OP view as inexpensive based on all of the suggestions received? As far as we know the OP may view $350 for Vair as inexpensive, it certainly can inflate all his tires with ease.
I had same question as OP on this site a few months ago, but I had added requirement of Electric only. It would have been too much hassle for me to access my batteries; plus I wanted to use the compressor to handle all of my air needs not just inflate tires.
I sure hope OPs says what he / she will buy.

Compressor
Fortress 2 Gallon at Harbor Freight. 135 psi. About $150.00. Super quiet. It’s 110 volt. I bought for motorhome tires which it fills fast but since Hurricane Ida live been using it to run nail gun to rebuild my house and it handles that with no problem as well.
