Tireminder I10

Getting ready to install the tireminder i10 on my 2022 vegas 24.4 once it stops raining here in southern California. My question is on the siignal booster. If reading it correctly it must be mounted in the rear of the rig. Where do you install it and where do you connect thee power?

Anywhere you can. I have a Tymate that costs next to nothing on a 35 foot motorhome, it works fine. Try it without the booster

My booster is attached to the underside rod my hitch with power coming off the 12VDC lug at the generator. I installed a switch to turn it off when not needed. I haven’t needed to turn the repeated on since installing it on this rig.

As a note my rig is 39’11” without toad.

I have the TM77

Underneath near rear axle. Pull power from a storage compartment light wire. Battery disconnect will conveniently turn off power to it when not in use. Easy peasy... and nothing to fuss with.

I have no issue getting my tire monitor to work on all 6 tires without a signal booster. I have a 2022 Thor Miramar that is almost 40 feet long.

Forgot to mention... I flat tow a Wrangler, so I'm monitoring 10 tires. But I agree with Paul... if not towing anything and just monitoring the motorhome tires, the booster Is probably not needed.

Question... didn't your 2022 come with factory internal TPMS? Brother-in-law's E-450 class C came with factory TPMS.

I also have the Tire Minder I10. I have a USB charging port built into the coach in the bedroom. I intend to connect the signal booster to the 12v supply to the USB device through a switch. As for whether or not you need the booster for just the coach, I am having a little trouble acquiring the initial connection on a couple of my sensors. I suspect the problem is at least partly due to cold weather. I am hopeful that installing the booster will help.

Mounted ours on the Axis 24.1 to the cross bar right behind the gas tank. It seem protected from road rocks etc. For power we went to the 12 volt connector that connects the generator to the batteries. It is in the front of the generator compartment. It is red wires bolted to a solenoid. The one coming from the battery is always hot and we used an existing bolt under the Axis for our ground wire.

Tire minder says you can leave it on for weeks before the battery is drained, but we put an on off switch in the storage compartment just above the generator. It could be placed anywhere you find room for it.

Mine is on the frame just aft of the axle. That's where the included power leads were able to reach from the battery at the step. Works great there for both the RV and TOAD. I've never noticed any issues as a result of it being hooked up all the time, but have solar.

I just added the Booster to my rig. So far, I only monitor the 6 tires on the Motorhome, while the I10 system will work without the booster, installing the booster makes a world of difference. I have found that without the booster it takes much longer to acquire all the sensors and sometimes it drops sensors. Perhaps that issue is caused by cold weather or marginal new batteries. After installing the booster, the sync up time after the receiver is powered on is much faster and I am not seeing dropped sensors any longer. IMHO even if you are not monitoring a toad, installing the booster is absolutely required. The system will work much better.

One other thing the main reason I am not monitoring the toad is that the OE valve stems are rubber which is not recommended. Also, I can monitor the toad tires using the Uconnect APP. Yes, that is not real-time but seriously the toad tires are nowhere near as heavily loaded as the motorhome tires. While the Jeep GVWR is 6200# or about 1500# per tire the maximum max weight rating of the of the OE tires is about 2700#. I have little worry about tire problems on my toad and its Off-road tires. My consideration would be different if I were towing a sedan with passenger tires.

Don;t know where your batteries are but I installed mine under the steps where the batteries are. Easy power connection and used zip ties to secure it to one of the battery box supports.

I also have rubber valve stems on our Jeep - they are short and stubby... and fairly new. I called TireMinder and discussed the rubber valve stems. I was told in my situation there's no issue... problems arise with longer stems, and as they age the get brittle and crack.

In three or four years I'll switch them out for metal stems, but for now - and two seasons under our belt - no issues.

I’ve used them on rubber stems but I only put the sensors on when on a trip. When I replaced my tires I had to insist on metal stems as the Tire Discount manage “just hates” them. And indeed, on a trip to Montana a few months later one of them failed - which was very inconvenient. I wouldn’t worry about it very much,

I monitor 10 tires also, and the booster helps with preventing signal dropouts. I mounted my booster in battery compartment with zip ties also. Easy to disconnect the alligator clips when not rolling on down the road.

My $.02. I have an older EEZTire system with 10 sensors that I initially put on a 40' DP and toad. When I ordered it I got the signal booster as a "just in case". I did connect it and put in in a cabinet drawer in the bedroom of the RV. Worked good but don't think it was really needed. I have the current same system in the Valencia, 36' and don't have the booster connected and don't need it. So I'll add to the comments that you likely may not need it so no need to spend the $$$ or hassle with an installation. The sensors are obviously wireless to the monitor and different RVs have different electrical interference so 1 size does fit all in electronics.

The booster comes with the I10 system. I would have ordered without but, I could not find an I10 kit without the booster. Fortunately for me, the Tire Minder people know better than I that the booster is an absolute necessity. I originally thought, like you, that I would not need the booster since I was only planning to monitor the coach. So, I did not install it. Then the first time I drove with the TM system the first sensor to drop out was the Left front. That one is the closest to the receiver. After I installed the Booster, the sensor dropped out problems disappeared. In addition, the receiver acquires the sensors much more quickly as well. Also, calling it a booster is a misnomer since it is actually a signal noise suppressor that reduces signal interference.

Also We are talking about the Tire Minder I10 system. Comparing to the EEZtire system is like comparing apples to oranges.

One size again does not fit all and different systems handle the interference in RVs differently. Since it came with the "booster" use it. Why not it's there. If parking for extended periods and not hooked up to power then disconnect it to prevent battery drawdown. If something works, do it again, if not change something.
