Is there anyone out there that can help me find where in the world the bypass is located on a 2017 Thor ACE 30.1? I'm beginning to think there is none haha.
TIA
There are 3 valves at the water heater. When in use the top and bottom valves should be open and the middle valve closed. When you winterize the top and bottom should be closed and the middle one open. I use air to clear my water lines and a $10 brass fitting screwed into the city water inlet, it's cheaper and I really don't like running so much water thru the lines to clean them out, not a fan of wasting water. I have a compressor so if you don't then ya gotta do what cha gotta do!!! Bob

We have a 2015 ACE 30.1 and ours is in the bed room on driver's side. You must pull the bottom drawer under the TV out and lift the piece of paneling out. You still have to stick your head in the space with a flashlight to find all three valves. I took a sharpie and drew a diagram of normal operation on it so I have to remember less.
When winterizing I switch the valves to bypass and pump in the antifreeze. I then go outside and drain the WH then put the plug back in. Then in the spring I run water to flush out the lines before switching the valves back. You just have to be careful to not turn the WH "ON" until it is refilled. Jim.

I have a 2016 Ace 30.1 and my water heater element burned out. Before taking the entire unit out to access the back, I had to disconnect the water lines. I removed the drawers on the left side below the closet. You will see shut off valves there. My connections to the element burned out and melted the wire nuts.

Did you operate it without water in it?

No. We were hooked up to city water at a campground in Kentucky.

Odd that it would melt wire nuts. When using electric it does pull a lot of amperage. Wonder if the wire connection underneath the caps was poor and caused the heat. One of the other electrical gurus on this forum may have the answer.

A tankless water heater means just that. There is no tank, thus no need to drain or bypass what isn't there.
