Awning Upgrade - Need Info!

2017 ACE 30.2…our next to last night on vacation, I forgot and left my awning out. Of course, storm comes overnight and DESTROYS it…basically rips it off my camper. Need an entire new awning. I’m going to replace it, but I really (and I mean REALLY) don’t want to go back with the janky, junky Carefree POS that came on it new. Anybody else replaced an awning with something better than factory? Particularly on an ACE? Thanks in advance for your help!

Cw is the best place for variety
Spend what you can
Settle if you have to.

Buy a power operated unit.
Remote control is even better
Rain and wind sensor is a must.

Parts are out there but you have to look. My GF's Crusader has a weather shredded patio awning and the motor went bad. A couple of mobile tech places said that motors and fabric were back ordered weeks. I got the awning part number off the roller, did some research on Amazon and couple other places and called Dometic to get the correct part numbers. He confirmed the motor part was correct, although an older number. We ordered last week, and the motor and fabric from Shade Pro sitting in my garage waiting on me now.

Don't take the first answer as gospel about parts availability, look for yourself.

First, I am aware of 2 manufacturers of RV awnings and their quality is basically the same ( we’ve had both). They are Dometic and Carefree.

Next, if your awning was damaged by wind you need tho check for structural damage at the mounting points. Most wind damaged awnings I’ve seen include mounting bolts being ripped out of the sidewall of the coach.
