RV’s in general

We have a Thor Chateau. Almost every time we take it out there is an issue. My husband gets furious, fixes it himself and we move on. He is finally accepting the fact, none of them are build with much love or final inspections. So he decided to go look at the number 1 built RV. Well, we weren’t impressed and decided to stay with our Thor.
It is sad to spend 120K and fix on things all the time. Thank goodness he can pretty much fix most things. He spends a lot of time googling to find out the best way to fix things!!
Its’s not the wrong brand, they are all the same!!

Your "Hugsband" sounds wise AND handy!

Does he make house-calls?

This is exactly the facts.
Others need to heed that quoted post above:
If you don't have the skills or the fix it money, don't buy a damn rv of any brand.
Thanks for the post.
It's exactly, clear down to him being mad, how it should work.
Study, Fix it, Verify by looking at other brands, adapt.
It's a kit, make it yours. Live life happy.

I could whine and kick and scream because Thor didn't put an electric outlet where I wanted, or I could just put the damn outlet in and call it.
(the cussing and screaming came when I had to build a tool, to build a tool, to make a tool, to do the job)

It is for this reason that my view is to buy the least expensive RV that's fits your needs and spend the difference fixing it up right.

I was hoping Thor's class B's would be better quality than the others. Silly me.

My lesson learned on this is don't assume things are wired properly from the factory...
Not from Thor factory. I think they use drunk monkeys to wire their coaches.

I am quite happy with my sequence. A couple of minor issues. Ones I was able to easily fix.

I purchased a used 2018 Four Winds 24F at CW in Syracuse NY. Their service dept. sucks. I had a few small issues and they didn’t fix any of them correctly. Anyways, if you bought yours at a CW and are on the west coast of Florida, call the dealer on Rt 19 in New Port Richey. They were awesome and fixed my issues properly and didn’t charge me anything.

Boy I wish when I was in Business all my customers were like you. Pay me $100,000 and if it doesn’t work, suck it up cry baby, fix it yourself. Thor should say “ This is the way it’s suppose to work, if it doesn’t , tough luck, figure it out. Our life is too short to get it right, you do it.”
I’m glad my heart doctor has A somewhat different attitude.

Have you made any progress with your Dealer, or with Thor directly yet?

It might be beta testing.
Play a first generation car or resource game, win first Gen prizes.
Everyone knows this.
A price is paid for leading and bleeding edge goods and services. That price is not exactly monetary.

Have a generator installed as a back-up..

Some here treat techs as if they're demigods with implanted OBD readers and borg wifi and a plethora of uncommon knowledge, while at the same time saying they're nitwits.
If you think, as I do, the techs working on this are nitwits:
Watch some youtube and outsmart them.
Fresh face... Forrest for the trees... Yadda yadda.

You shouldn't say how heavily you rely on techs and at the same time say they're stupid.
'cause you're not relying on yourself as best source and that's stupid.

Throughout this thread many of us have asked for details the op either hasn't the ability to provide or refuses to provide. Either way, some blame lies right exactly there.

The paying public should be treated like guinea pigs...

... unless they are properly compensated for the aggravation that it causes!

The morality is known.
The actual practice is known.

If beta tests weren't done, there would be no windows. We'd still be waiting for dos to be be fully debugged.
Every single thing you own was a beta test at some time in time. Some things need no mods, some things do.

The windshield on a Vegas/axis. They wouldn't have known what was wrong until they got the feedback from the 10:1,000 who had a bad windshield, they beta'd out to the public.
Then they fixed it.

You know who didn't buy a 2019 because they didn't trust the ready camp or whatever the electronics is called? Me. Of all the 'I'll mod anything' guys, it was me. Purposefully didn't buy the first year beta test in an AXIS.

I can't find anything even remotely new about the system the op complains of.

Due to lack of commincation from the op, I'm not even really sure it's not just a use/store button misunderstanding.

But we can still hope for better treatment from those who take our money so blithely, and say nothing...
