Grey water tank fitting leak

2018 Thor Chateau 24F. We parked in our son’s driveway today to visit for a few days. Noticed a small puddle in the back center under the motorhome. There is this 3” x 1-1/2 spigot eccentric fitting that slides into the grey water tank that was dripping where it slides into the grey water tank is held in place by a hose clamp about 3” from the outside edge of the tank. I moved the hose clamp further to the end and tightened and the leak got worse. Moved it back to the original position and snugged it quite tight and slowed the leak down to a very small drip. My question is if I should drain the tank and pull out the fitting, dry and clean all mating surfaces and use Plumbers Goop to seal between the fitting and the grey water tank.

Does anyone know what a grey water tank is made out of?

Is it leaking all the time? Ours has a flex line going to the grey tank. Is yours the same, might it be torn?

It drips just a little bit after tightening the hose clamp. Ours is a abs line going into the fitting shown in the first post and the fitting slides into the grey water tank instead of overtop of the tank fitting. Seems kinda backward from my knowledge of plumbing.

This is exactly the issue we are having with our 2018 24FE. Took it apart and found it had been installed with putty and hose clamp. Skip500, did you ever resolve the leak and if so, how?

Anyone else? Thanks!

Years ago, I repaired a small leak with marine/aquarium grade silicone. I wanted to maintain some flexibility and not transfer the stress to another part at the tank lip.

Something similar here sounds like it should work

Due to some issues, we have not used the MH in a while. I have not checked it out yet. Hope some things get resolved so I can get back to it.

I’ll have to figure out if I can slide the fitting out of the tank with the line hooked up or if I’ll have to do some replumbing.

I think we have the solution! DH is working on it and should have it finished in a day or so. We will post pictures once it's finished. Stay tuned!
