Silly tire question?

OK, maybe a silly question. My sticker and the weights on my axles say 82psi on all tires, which I have. During the driving I know the pressure increases. but the psi on the inside rear tires become around 3-4 psi higher then the outside tires, and I'm sure the inside tires get hotter and is the reason for the increase. So, before I take off the next time, should I added 3-4 psi on the outside tires so they will even out when the tires heat up?

Always check your tire pressures when cold, and don't let the fluctuations get inside your head... you'll go crazy chasing the pressures.

I go with the recommended pressure on my tires that's posted inside drivers door. 75 front, 65 rear. I've tried higher and lower and feel what's posted the best for me.

The psi on the tire sidewall is the maximum psi the tire is designed for. The psi on the door jamb in the manufactures recommendation for the weight of the vehicle. Go with the psi on the door jamb.

You should be good. 82 psi is a pretty common pressure setting.

First off, not a silly question. You've gotten the correct answer but recommend you go the next step. Weigh your coach - at least front an rear axles, then use the link below to find your tires and weights for proper inflation. The PSI is about the cold inflations. The cold inflation makes sure the tire have the correct profile for appropriate weights.

I have weighed the MH and checked the chart. Both the chart and the sticker on the MH both say 82 psi. I may just be over thinking this.

Nope, tire pressure is one of the most important things that you can do for your motorhome. You are absolutely not over-thinking

"Overthinking"?
But it doesn't matter if your pressures are spot-on for your application!

And there's no such thing as a silly question: there are only poor answers!

The beauty of tire pressures is that they don’t have to be perfect, just within a certain range that doesn’t wear them out quickly or provide a rough ride.

Your question is not only NOT silly, but is an entirely appropriate safety related question. I wish more RV'ers would be more concerned about tires and safety. You have your answer for PSI for your coach, I would only point out that though ride quality is a concern, its secondary to running adequate PSI to prevent the tire from overheating as you drive. Heat is a tire killer, and causes more tire failures than any other single factor. Happy RV'ing.

Perhaps a tire pressure monitoring system is on your Christmas Wish-List this year?

Your other option if desired is to have the tires filled with Nitrogen. It doesn't build pressure when it heats up. When I was at a dealer in AZ all their tow behinds had it, not sure about coaches. You can tell by the green valve cap

I use "Nitrogen Light": it's only about 78% pure...
