slide out in storage.

I'm a bit confused ,I cover my MH due to severe winter weather here. I notice as I drive around that many owners (mostly trailers ) leave slides extended while parked. They will have a foot of snow on them. Is a slide better sealed when it is out? Should I have mine out too. It is about 50% either way, and I am curious.

It's 'towed', not toad.

When open, I think many to most rv's have mouse size holes somewhere.
It seems pretty silly at first blush to leave them ooen
I can only think the owners may be worried about seals gluing themselves shut.
There's a spray cure for that.

I never leave my slide out when we are not traveling. As Duck said.... more opportunity for critters and water to enter. Our slide is only out when we are using it or preparing for a trip / cleaning up from a trip.

Every time I drive by a camper or coach with the slide out for months on end I say to myself "what are they thinking?"
