Solution for reaching front cap to wax

I started to polish/wax my Freedom Elite using Meguires 3 step kit. I had some lumber laying around so I made a scaffold. It’s on swivel caster wheels so I can easily roll it around. While the paint was wet I threw some sand on the deck to make it non slip. Now I can reach the front & rear caps (and the sides) without going up & down a ladder. I did the rear today, it worked pretty slick.

Do you see a way it could be engineered with heavy hinges to allow folding? The problem I'd have is storage.

I’m not sure of where you could hinge it. I suppose you could either nut and bolt it in specific places or maybe use a hitch pin type setup?

I think you should draw up plans and market this.

A Seneca owner on the Jayco forum posted his mod to a Werner Baker style scaffold. He extended the platform so it would fit over the nose of an S2RV chassis. Assembled and disassembly in under 5 minutes.

NOW THAT IS NICE. As for hinging it. Use heavy duty door type hinges on the (Outside) to allow the two sides to fold flat against the large section. Make the floor section to have removable boards.

I just got finished waxing mine. Did the lower half with a ladder, then got up on the roof to do the upper. Pain in the ass.

I have a different idea that should work.
Use 2 ladders with ladder jacks. place them 9 foot apart and a 2 x 12 across and over the garage door. Drive RV in between. Should work with normal garage doors since your not actually driving it into the garage, but just maybe a foot or two of the hood.

Very Cool! I have some front cap window work to do and I've been trying to decide the best way to tackle it. Kinda wish you were my neighbor!

I like the post by CHS using two ladders, ladder jacks and a walk board. I already have all of the items.
