To a dealership. All of the toad equipment has zero value, actually negative value.they will pay someone to remove it all and dispose of it.they offer nothing extra on trade in.because of that i wouldnt offer anything extra for a toad equipped vehicle

And here's another thought on previously mounted towing equipment. It could be damaged by abuse or accidents. I have seen people back up while flat towing, jackknifing the toad, and literally pushing it sideways a few feet, then straighten out and leave. Just like most options added to a vehicle, it add little if any value to the vehicle and a potential new buyer.

I have a Blue Ox tow setup, and Blue Ox SPECIFCALLY states backing could damage the frame/steering components of the toad, and put abnormal stress on the tow bar causing it to weaken, bend or possibly break.

And yet people STILL back up "just a little bit" because it's convenient. Those same folks likely hammer with an adjustable wrench too.

To me, it's NOT worth the risk. I'm 1,000 miles from home on a trip I'm supposed to be enjoying... I'm NOT risking completely unavoidable damage just to save 15 minutes of unhitching/re-hitching. Just me...

Yeah... I'm not much of a "Herder" and chose not to follow the group and to stay away from the decision of so many to pull a Jeep! For lots of reasons that are noted in this thread.
Me? I went with a Chevy Sonic! Why? Well, my research showed me that it was one of a very, very few vehicles that you could purchase and 4-wheel-down tow without voiding the Manufacturers Warranty... AND it's a comfortable CAR with lots of interior road and a normal ride on the road. I went with the Invisa braking system... Simple connection of the normal wiring and then press a button on the dash and you're ready to go!
If the rare situation arrives that I need to go Off Road, I'll rent a Jeep!

Far too logical.
