Ply Hrd...not to take the thread down a dirt road but have you considered a portable, inverter generator for use during long, extended dry camping? I use either my Champion 3100 or one or two (in parallel) of my Honda 2000's. Both setups deliver 30A power, will run one A/C plus keep fridge and batteries up. They will run for many hours on less than a gallon. I carry them with a few gas jugs on a rear hitch carrier. We do this at the racetrack over a 10 day period. Never used over 15 gallons the entire venture. I'm not "afraid" to use the generator but why run 6000W genset when you only need a fraction of it? If it gets hot during the heat of the day, I will use onboard system for both A/C's but not for long. Just my opinion and practice.
