Yes !! either mud dauber/wasp screens or cattle ear tags which have repellent in the tag .. we have been using them for over 5 years .. place them in the a/c unit and all vents ... no wasp problems to date !

PLEASE NOTE:

I just received this reply from Thor regarding the heater door on my 2016 Vegas 24.1:
"From your picture it looks like this is the old style door, I request you take it to your local Thor Dealer and have them change this for you, have them order and install the new style, I have put notes in the file about this and we will take care of it for you."

This is the door that I have:

Anyone with a question should contact Thor and send them a picture of your heater door at: warrantysupport@tmcrv.com'

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I just looked at my cover and it appears that I am one of those effected by this manufacturer default. CW here I come.

Interesting: Our furnace cover looks nothing like any of the pictures posted here.

Since we haven't had any issues there I'm inclined to leave well enough alone.

Yup: Ours doesn't: It has vents around the exhaust port. Looks completely different from any of the pics posted.
Here is the best pic I have of all the images I posted:

Looks like the exhaust port was cut straight through the vent.

Nonetheless its lasted two seasons and one nasty drive through rain/snow to get to FL and back without issue so I'm calling it good

Bob,

Bypass the dealership and go straight to THor. Use the address listed above (entry #23).

Just a thinking... I would assume that the louver blades should be horizontal, right? With a screen behind... It's open for air flow, right? I have only had my coach since March and have not had to fire up the furnace.
I am in the roofing business and have a sheet metal shop. I think I will remove door and see if I can do mod my self. Doesn't look that hard.
Thoughts?

Squid,

The new panels appear to have NO louvers. I'll know more when my new one is delivered.

Keep me posted, in the meantime going to fire up furnace and make sure it works (duh!). I got my coach from a good friend so I just assumed all works as it should.
Will take door off to and see what's behind...door number 1!

Wow!!! I have a 2015 ACE30.2 and my pic of the furnace cover matches Bob's. Three times I have had water intrusion in heavy rains, usually when traveling on heavily crowned roads, but could not locate the leak. Just now returning from a three week road trip where we used the furnace for the first time since we purchased our MH. At least it worked!!! Will be contacting Thor on Monday. We are out of warranty, but this appears to be a serious defect. Let's see what Thor says....

My 29.3 heater cover also looks like Bob's. I contacted Thor and they said that there are no known recalls for this. It would seem an official defect recall notice for the ACE heater panel has not been issued.

I just got an email from Bretz RV in Billings MT and they have ordered a new cover for our Ace 29.3. Yeah! I contacted Thor about various issues and they did NOT deny there was a problem with some of these covers. Maybe call them again?

Water leak? Check the top edge of your stove exhaust vent. We had leaks inside and stopped once I sealed the top/side edges of external vent. Forum thread about issue.

As Usual with a lot of these things it all depends on who answers the phone. I probably got the "by the book" guy. "No recall no replacement". I will call again.
