Bryce,

Is one light brighter than the other? I like the selectable modes on the Aldi one.

Thanx

I like the adjustability of your Aldi units, I'll look online for them.

For the bathroom, I install a small unit facing the bedroom. It's low power and is perfect for the late night walk/stumble. It's not adjustable for duration but the head swivels, I have it mounted high aimed at the ceiling. It's perfect. https://www.amazon.com/Fulcrum-Wirel...ensor+Light%2C

I'd like a small, push button unit for above the control panel. Small white letters on a black panel are impossible to read in dim light.

New Bed Platform Top

I got tired of messing with the original bed platform to access storage and electronics. So I designed and built a better alternative. Click image for larger version

And I can access both at the same time if required.

I made it about an inch shorter than the mattress so we can sit on the end of the bed. I also put a nice radius on the corners so we don't scrape or legs on the sharp edges of the original one.

Had to cut a notch in the end of the side piece so it wouldn't hit that fancy headboard.

Shawn - I tested both of them this evening.

The Aldi unit is much brighter on the high setting. The Motion Brite was about even with the low setting on the Aldi model.

The good news is that on Automatic (or motion mode), it is VERY bright, so they must default to the High setting for that.

After doing these latest tests, I think I'll put the Aldi in the control panel area...it seemed to light the screen up better.

I never liked having to push it on & off...I think that's what caused it to loosen over time.

I came across a motion activated LED light strip that works perfectly.

I mounted mine on the inside of the cabinet, on the bottom facing up (using gravity as my friend).

Sometimes, just opening the control panel cabinet activates the light, but if not, I just wave my hand & I have light.

I bought another motion activated light strip that I plan to add by the outlets on the back side of the bed...I plug my phone into charge there at night & it's tough to see.

Well things are getting back to normal here. Its been a roller coaster two weeks. Maria got diagnosed with cancer on Nov 8. By the 15th she was checked into the hospital after several doc visits and tests. Friday the 16th doc cut out the cancer. Nice 4" cut on her lower stomach. Got released from the hospital on Tuesday and doing great. Pathology report was great. No chemo needed. We even went to her aunts for Thanksgiving

So shes doing great but moving a little slow. No black friday shopping for her

I had some time to work on the motorhome. Finally mounted my fmca plate and removed the entry step

For those who remember i was getting a ratcheting sound from the motor when the step retracked in. Found a broken weld on the step frame. It has to be welded in the correct spot for the step controler to know its in and to turn off power. So next step is to bring it to my buddy that welds. If the weld holds up im good. If it still makes the noise then ill have to buy a new step.

FYI the step is held in place by 4 nuts. The bolts come down through the floor. Very easy to take off. I used a couple boards under the step to support it so it wouldnt fall on my head

Ill update as things get done

weld it

If you were closer I'd fix it for you. It wouldn't be pretty but it would hold up a tank.
Tell Maria we are thinking about her and hope she heals up fast. And to you take good care of her those stomach cut take time to heal up so be nice to her for a change.

Godspeed to your family. Cancer sucks but these are pretty good days medical wise. Mine was cut out 9 years ago and still cancer free. Glad you’re back. This thread is among my favorites!

The thread about the new bed platform was great. Really something to think about. It also got me thinking about our King Size bed, What kind of mod have ya'll done to the bed sheets and mattress pad to get them to fit. Ours are so large, I think I should have gotten Queen size to fit the king. Has anyone fixed their king size to fit the bed?

Awesome upgrade! Where in CA are you?
Like Jerry said, I hate having to remove the screws to access the electronics each time I want to get in there. (I already had to rip a 1/4" strip off the window-side edge. It would cut into my wife's leg as she tried to shimmy by.) A good piano hinge looks like the way to go. Thanks for the idea!

Cheers!
