Storage Compartment Locks
Thanks for all the responses. I just purchased some replacements from this site. I'm hoping to put them on this weekend. While I'm sure anyone who really wants to get into the storage compartments will ultimately do so, maybe this will deter them a little bit. :-)
Thanks,
Mark

That is what I did but from CW. I changed all mine from key to non-keyed as the key not much of a deterrent, since only a few variations in keys, that way they won't have to break things too get in, no longer have to keep up with a key.

That's an interesting way to look at it. You're right. If they really want to get into it, those locks aren't going to stop them.

What I did. However, sometimes the compartment sidewalls aren't strong enough to deter a good hard pull on the door. I won't divulge the very vulnerable compartment but you'll find it while going through the motions.

Relying to an older thread...
I bought some replacement storage compartment locks so they'll be a little more secure (vs having locks that use the same keys as 75% of RVs). If anyone wants one or more of the old locks (uses key CH751) let me know (name & address via PM).

Just received my order from ch751. Great service and speedy delivery, but not all locks are created equal….this was a very frustrating day trying to replace the locks. I am going to have to order different came that have a bend…even though my thor ace has straight flat ones now. The lock sizes on the guide are somewhat of a guess.

Old storage lock and new ch751
Used the guide, but just not fitting right. New lock looks longer than the old one, but latch does not catch.
One still has key stuck in it.
Going to buy next bigger size with the bent cam.

Just got these… 10 Pack Cabinet Lock with Keys, 1-1/8” RV Storage Locks Keyed Alike, RV Locks for Storage Door, Camper Cabinet Door Toolbox Lock RV Cam Locks with Manual
on Amazon for $45. Took under an hour or so to replace all the original. They are all keyed alike, 2 tabs to choose from for offset latching. Be sure to measure as directed. Highly recommend them.

I never knew why an outdoor shower needs to be locked. I did away with that lock. Also the lock on my wet bay. If someone wants to steal my sewer hose, more power to em.
