Wink It’s official!

Hi, I checked in a few weeks ago (was “still looking”, not retired, drive with 2 feet). Brought home Axis 24.1 today. Drove great on back roads; no major highways yet. Looking forward to giving it (Her? Him?) some personality and planning short trips. Have lived in FL Panhandle 30 Years; would love to see more of our parks. Safe travels to all!

New Axis

Congratulations two feet! Very nice. Keep calm and drive on we say. You can spend hours reading about possible modifications for your Axis. First thing that comes to mind is that your later model has an even larger front grill. That grill being low to the ground at the same time will be quite inviting for a small rock that just dropped off of a construction truck, etc., to go past it and crashing through your radiator, etc. Read up on the Forum what several of us have done to protect what is behind that pretty grill. One step at a time with all of this.

Earl is right. One step at a time.
If yours did not come with a locking gas cap (a discussion once again on this Forum) I recommend that you look into getting one. I got mine in 2015 at a NAPA part store (part # BK7031723) for $19.22 tax and all. Our 24.1 is on the E350 chassis, not sure if there is a difference for the E450 if yours is on that chassis.

Safe Travels.

24.1 changes

Thank you for the suggestions for a few inexpensive mods to my new 24.1. More the challenge may be driver seat adjustment; I have read ideas about that here, also.

Congratulations on your new "baby'. We have a 2016 VEGAS 25.2 and love it.

The people on this forum have been GREAT and have not laughed at this NEWBIES stupid questions (at least not that I know of)

There is also a great manual that a fellow VEGAS\AXIS owner put together. It has been a lifesaver for us.

Go you! While we're still a few years from retirement and full time RV life, we just got our "new to us" Windsport last weekend. Maybe we'll see you "on the road" when we head down to Key Largo for our first real trip at the end of April!

Welcome and congrats! Here's the link to Ed Felker's excellent crowd-sourced manual for Vegas/Axis: https://1drv.ms/w/s!AiYx6DLSeiiP6UNyy_VYGDO0BW6L
