Disneyland and Knotts berry farm now closed on the west coast. It’s getting weird out here now. Sams, Costco out of rice, beans T-paper, paper towels and top-ramens! Glad I have my earthquake supplies filled up.

Sorry but June's not looking any better.
I read an article this morning about hot weather may not stop covid19.
Take a look at this CDC world map.
Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America... they've had it since mid to late SUMMER.

We are still weekend tripping it, so, unless the events (races), state parks, rallies decide to shut them down, we are heading out to live and explore.

Oh yes, we are going to wash our hands too. Now how does it go? Happy birthday to me, happy (my last place of work said we should continue washing/scrubbing your hands until you completed that song within your head),,,birthday to me....

We’ve been on the road since mid January and didn’t realize the situation was so bad until yesterday when at home the local schools closed, colleges evacuated and people are being told to work from home. We are a couple of weeks from going home and the area we are in looks less infected than home so we are sticking to our plan for now.

Consider this before you go...

Interesting to read how the evolving pandemic is influencing people’s decisions around this idea of living life as normal in these very abnormal times. These two sources have heavily influenced our decision to stay home and hunker down (along with the fact that we live in a beautiful and relatively isolated area). Yes, I really wanted to see Arches/Bryce/Zion, but its not the LAST trip I hope to take, and I don’t want to be critically ill away from home. My 2cents...

What are the campgrounds doing?

What are the campgrounds such as KOA doing to ensure a healthy environment. Has anyone heard of any closings at campgrounds? Anyone been told to leave?

I got plans to go to Tombstone in early May for a week, Yellowstone for 10 days in July and a 7 day cruise in August as well as several short trips throughout this summer to the local mountains. This made up fear is ridiculous.

We're not one to fall for hype very much.

If you need to be scared, pile on.

Just don't threaten regularly minded folks with
'quit killing people.'

Some people jump on any bandwagon that comes along as an assuage to their personal failures.

Don’t confuse caution with fear

Put yourself in a room full of people some are coughing and some are sneezing. Top that off with the World Health Organization saying we are in a pandemic with a virus that there is no cure for and in older folks with underlying health problems it CAN kill you, what do you do? Do you have fear of that guy with the runny nose and the cough? Do you move farther away? If you don’t then you are a fool.
We are in uncharted territory here. Flu may kill more people than this Covid crap but flu has treatments and vaccines.
I am 63 years old and retired from a dust trade and in relatively good health, but I have early stages of asbestosis and work one day a week at the local hardware. People of all stripes come and go. Do I continue to work and possibly expose myself? What about after working with the public am I exposing my wife with COPD? Should I still visit my 89 year old mother? These are real questions.

Life doesn’t stop but if we don’t take this threat seriously, use common sense and change how we interact with one another then we all have the potential to be a Typhoid Mary.

I think being on a rv trip is the safest thing to do other than locking yourself up in your house. I have plans for a ten thousand mile trip starting in May. If I'm not forbidden by the government I'm going. My precautions will be minimal. Food shopping in uncrowded small town grocery stores. Wash my hands before and after. Wash my hands after pumping gas.I always avoid crowds anyway. Life is short enjoy it!

Did the RV world panic as much in 2009 during H1N1? By the time the government took any action over 1,000 people had died. The government has been on this for a couple of weeks and outside of one nursing home the infection rate in infinitesimal.
