Thank you in advance.

I wish I knew how that was done to preset it to STAY ON? I drive with my Tow/Haul ON all the time; IF I remember to turn it on. It just drives better to me whether on hills or not. Maybe someone can give me a compelling reason why I shouldn't; but for now my logic is this...

My F53 chassis is towing a 12,000lb house 24/7; so therefore I should use tow/haul mode per my Ford Owners manual

Only time I'm not in tow haul is flat freeway driving with cruise control usually set at 65mph

I like the shift pattern with tow/haul on but I get annoyed by the downshifting every time I tap the brakes. If I’m using the cruise control and come up on another vehicle and have to tap the brakes to disengage it it’ll downshift unnecessarily.

Instead of tapping the brakes, hit cancel on the cc, the restore

I've never had that happen. Tapping the brakes when in CC either in T/H or not only disengages the CC. Subsequent brake tapping when in T/H causes downshifts as expected.

That’d work. Just requires a change in habits....! But still. It a fan of the downshifts associated with application of brakes. Thanks for the suggestion

Normally for me, if I have to tap my brakes or brakes it is generally due to some A hole that has boxed me in by slowing down beside me or that A hole #2 that sees you need to get in left lane and speeds up to overtake you so you are forced to brake without hitting the vehicle in front. When that happens I am already annoyed

When I am 100% control in CC and wish to slow down or stop, I press the cruise button well in advance and just roll to slow down. Out of habit I try to avoid braking as much as possible as if I was going down a deep incline.

We drove tow / haul all the way to Denver & back (during that blizzard) and short the ice on highways; we never went below 55 mph. I drive at 70mph on interstates. I like the power I feel of tow / haul mode if I need to pass a truck when I may hit 75 as to quickly get on the other side of them
