I have no connections to Camping World whatsoever.

I’ve asked this question before and still haven’t received a good answer that makes sense to me.

Camping World doesn’t manufacture the RVs any more than the Honda generators at their stores. If the industry designs and or builds crappy RVs with tons of defects, or that fall apart, or are difficult to fix, why is it Camping World’s fault? And on top of that, RV manufacturers are at least partly in control of repair budgets and also when they will provide necessary parts for needed repairs.

If only one RV manufacturers built crap, then we could blame CW for carrying that line of RV. But if all manufacturers are essentially building poor quality, what are they suppose to do?

I’m certain CW must be partly responsible somehow, but I can’t get over the idea that manufacturers are to blame to a much greater degree.

It isn't just CW...it's the dealer service network in general. Most RV's are bought long distance...dealers know this...so there's no concern for the buyer. It's partly the buyer's faults. It's like the cheap old man with the two day growth on his face that shows up at a shop with his own parts he bought for cheap, asking the garage to put them on for him...or the guy that shows up with his own oil and filter, etc. If I were a dealer and the guy down the street went three states away to beat my price by a few hundred dollars...I wouldn't jump through hoops to help him with service issues. When the manufacturer's start holding the dealer's hands closer to the fire to service their buyers or loose their products, things may change. It has nothing to do with build quality. There was a day when AOR (Area of Responsibility) meant something to dealers...no one is loyal anymore.

And are manufacturers loyal to dealers? I doubt it.

If manufacturers build a bad product and ship it to dealers hoping they fix it (or complete the RV) before delivery, it opens the door for all kinds of problems.

But it does create a lot of jobs for the "Service Technicians"...

Your "if" and "doubt" are purely subjective. "IF" is the largest word in the dictionary to only have two letters, and "DOUBT" is a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction. What problems have you had with your Thor motorhome that haven't been resolved? What actual experience have you had with Thor build quality or CW service issues? Have you been to the factory and witnessed firsthand how they build them and what the QC process is before they leave for delivery? If buyers did due diligence before they handed over the money, 90% of service nightmares would not exist.

Just to clarify a point: Which "GM" are you referring to?
