When we bought our Miramar we had them install a continuous hot water something like what they install in house. No problem running out of hot water. The cost of ours was $600 installed if I remember correctly

If it keeps S.W.M.B.O. happy: it's worth every penny!

We just got back from our 4th summer long trip with 5 grand kids. The only issue we ever had with hot water was washing dishes or running the wash machine while showering. Otherwise, no issues. We run the gas and electric heaters at the same time. PS: 4 of these kids are 12, 12, 13, 13 year old young ladies. They don't understand the idea of Navy showers and fortunately don't need to. Now I guess you all know why I've been so quiet the last 6 weeks.

Wife often is washing dishes while washing clothes so not sure how a 6 gallon would work. With the separate dryer it is often 2 - 3 loads consecutively and 6 would certainly not work.

Get the Oxygenics Fury shower head. My DW said "It has a setting that really gets the shampoo out and one that feels great on my face."

Unhappy Riff Raff

Trade one or the other, but seriously where was she when you'll were checking out the specs and accessories when you purchased the MH..Bottom line, follow some of the posed suggestions or upgrade the MH.

One thing for sure, I am not trading in my wife. She allowed me to purchase the unit once I showed her how we would pay for it. Bob hit the nail right on the head with his S.W.M.B.O.

Since I have yet to make the first trip in the RV, I'm not trading that either.

The research and selection of the coach was primarily on my shoulders. I showed her a Thor Challenger 37YT that was at a local dealership. That was the first step toward getting approval. I did not address the hot water capacity with her. This hot water issue just came up the other morning when she was 15+ minutes in the shower without turning the water off. That sparked my question and her response that started this thread. Being a country girl, I am sure that she will adapt.

I did hear from the service department yesterday. Parts have been received from Thor but they have now found they will have to remove the gray water tank to fix the broke pipe. Delivery is now expected to be Wednesday.

Our first trip is now just over a week away. We are starting to make shopping lists. Hopefully smooth sailing on the horizion,

Trading EITHER of them in; is just too bloody expensive!

Please let us know how your first trip turns out: Good Luck!

Have a safe, happy and enjoyable trip. Once the wife begins to enjoy RVing and become more acquainted with the little pro and cons, she'll forget all about the limited use of water when taking a shower. Wishing the two of you a great adventure and many, many happy and safe miles.

Assuming that you have the space, and the inclination...
You could just shower together: and save lots of water!

The dear wife has been practicing her Navy showers this week. She also bought some spray on & leave in hair conditioner. We should be good for the trip.

Tfryman was correct when he posted the laughs at my dealership's estimate that I would have the MH back by the end of July.

I went by the dealership to pick it up yesterday (Aug 1st). I paid the bill and we walked to the service bay. She called out for the tech which brought the response, "We have a problem". (I thought about Apollo 13.) The jacks would not retract. It was late so they could not get it fixed. This morning the call came stating the jacks were fine. The issue was a bad solenoid that was preventing the house batteries from being charged. They are having a new solenoid shipped overnight so I should be able to pick up the MH on Friday.

We are scheduled to leave Saturday morning so I don't know if I will have time to install the new shower head. We shall see.

Side Note: I met mark4jesus and his lovely wife the other day when they were camping in Pigeon Forge. Nice folks plus they gave me some tips for my first camp set up so maybe I won't look too much like a newbie.

Take the shower head with you and install it at the camp. Less than 5 minute job.

Question: Can you simply unscrew the OEM shower head; and replace it with the Oxygenics?
If you can: that looks as if it would simplify the process by a ton! You could use the OEM shower head bracket that's already there!

In most cases - yes. And the Oxygenics does fit in the OEM bracket.
