Sorry buddy I think your search for a new lock will continue. Yours is completely different than mine.

Go to Bauers website. They have the dimentions needed in the door opening for their locks to fit. They might have one that will fit yours but I dont remember seeing one

Dino, if you remember when we met up we looked at the doors on both our coaches. Same year, same model, totally different door locks, handles, and screen door opening. Guess Thor just uses whatever they have on hand! I like your door handle a lot better than ours, much easier to use!

Come to think of it, you are correct, forgot about that Dave. My brother has a Tiffin 31 SA Class A and we have the same door lock but different screen door...go figure!!!

Armless rv awning woes

If your RV has the armless awnings, check the elbow joints out from time to time! This is what happen to the right side elbow (over the door) of our awning!! The piece that broke off almost hit me on the head when the awning was opening.

Will check with the manufacturer to see if there is a remedy for me. I also have an appointment with CW on Monday to check it out.

Wish us luck on this one!!!!

And another mod today. I've been busy the last couple days. Think I need a vacation. Retirement isn't suppose to be this much work

Anyways the shower has always been a problem. I'm 6'4". Maria is 5'1". I use the oxygenic shower head. Maria hates it because the water always hits her in the face. So she uses the cheap stock shower head on the bottom bracket made to hold the hose.

So I have to change the oxygenic and cheapy stock shower head after each other shower. Its a pain in the butt

Well amazon to the rescue again

Dura Faucet Shower Slide Bar for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HYIA3R6?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Pretty simple straight forward install. Find center, attach top bracket first. The top has to go on first. The bracket only has about 1/4"-1/2" clearance. Then level and attach bottom bracket.

I didn't use any caulking on the top mainly because I forgot. Water shouldn't splash up there.

I predrilled the bottom bracket holes, squirted caulking in the holes the best I could and caulked the bracket up real good. Then screwed it down.

It feels pretty secure but its an rv so I'm sure it wouldn't take much to rip it from the wall. Only way to really secure it would be to cut an access hole in the wall and use a backing plate. That's a possible do on the 29m because the wall is behind the bathroom sliding door. But for now it secure and looks good

Now the shower head can raise and lower and swivel forward and back. Maria should be happy and now she can use the much better oxygenic shower head.

I might pull out the oxygenics water restrictor for even more water but that might use up the hot water to much. Have to think more about that

I also had to plug the 4 holes left by the stock brackets. Found some white plugs that attach to phillip head screws. Squeezed caulking in and around the holes and just pushed the plugs in with no screw in the hole. should be water tight

Jerry

PS. I think it took longer to write this post than the installClick image for larger version

There was discussion about OBD heads-up scanners in one of the threads and I thought it was this one. I apologize if it wasn’t. Being a former jet engine technician, I’m anal about watching system read outs especially RPM and pressures. I would like to get a OBD heads-up display scanner but instead of projecting onto the windshield, I would like to connect it to my quad view monitor. Does any one know if any of the displays have a video out probably an RCA connect that I can plug into the monitor? I have check Amazon but haven’t come across one as yet. Thanks

They seem to be all Bluetooth enabled. A temporary fix might be using an old off the grid cell phone and project to that. Till a monitor solution is found. Interesting question.

Or just use an OBD2 scanner/monitor bluetooth connected to a tablet. Doesn't even need the initials H U D. You can find how others have mounted the tablet in this thread.

Thanks for the replies. I have the 10” quad monitor for the cameras mounted on the dash and was hoping to keep it as uncluttered as possible. However, the Bluetooth system is certainly something to consider. Thanks again.

I use my wife’s old iPad mini on a Ram mount along with a Bluetooth OBD2, gives me all the information I need and actually more than I need. Mount the iPad, plug scanner in to the port and connect. Got the scanner for about $10 from Amazon, iPad was laying on the shelf collecting dust.

As I posted earlier I had the Bluetooth reader but didn't really like it. I used my phone as the monitor. I replaced it with the Scangauge 2. Like it much better.

Don't think it has an rca option but I never looked. I know they sell different cables. Might be worth a look

I don't like clutter on the dash either. I mounted the scangauge on the left lower corner of the instrument panel

Good luck
Jerry
