I looked up the info from your link. Makes total sense now. Printed the information and added it to my binder. Mounted the solar controller and roughted the power wire to the battery. I tried my toner on the orange/black white wires in the bay with no luck finding the other end. got behind the breaker box and no luck. Nothing on the roof or in any of the bins. Thor service has no idea what it is or where it goes. Next is getting the temp sensor to the battery bay and the PV input port placed.
I should be moving on to the cameras soon. I'm liking the suggestion from the post made previously.
sometimes I feel I have to many wants for this coach that I might just take a break and go on a road trip. Maybe Yuma in late may.
Thanks for the help finding out the info on those two parts. Nice forum I found here with great people..

==Mike

Just curious, What do you all do when the alternator is spinning and trombetta is closed, do you turn off your solar ? And when you run the generator with house charger on, do you turn off solar ?

Hi all,
Tons of changes with my 2014 Tuscany 36MQ.
Trojan t-105 (4) changed out with Battle Born 270Ah 12V LiFePO4 Deep Cycle GC3 Battery. Trombetta and Bird changed out for the Li-BIM 225.

The new LiFePO4 weighs just a few pounds more than a single Trojan T-105 . I'm adding a second LiFePO4 in June.

Looks good, are you a frequent boondocker?

Were your Trojans AGM?

Other changes

Besides the batteries, I changed the hot water tank to a Girard tankless waterheater (GSWH-2), added a Sani-Con Turbo macerator, and installed a Micro-Air EasyStart Advanced Soft Starter on each of the rooftop AC units.
I have since had the water heater door painted to match the rest of the coach.

Nice work

I thought all Tuscany coaches came with Aquahot, maybe 40' up?

The newer AirXcel have softstart

Let us know next year how you like the battery upgrade

Perhaps the larger coaches have the Aquahot - I wish mine did. But this was the next best thing.

Have a AquaHot 400D in mine. Does a good job for one shower. Second person I need to use Diesel .. I looked up the 450 Not that it would help me much but I like the fact it heats from the engine when running and will act as a block heater as well.
On times when the temp is below the heat pump operation just the electric heat setting keeps the coach warm down to 33 degrees then its time to turn on Fuel. I don't carry propane but a small space heater comes in handy on those real cold nights,
Its off to rainy Orlando this weekend. Hope ya-all are well.

FYI Caution for Sewer Hose Under Bed

We found out the hard way when the sewer hose separated under the bed in the slide out. Thor was kind enough to use OEM tie wraps to connect the joint originally, which you can see in the photo. Obviously, this was a fail.

I found an o-ring seal that worked and reconnected the joint with a little PVC glue dabbed on for good measure.

You may want to check under your bed to see if your hose connection looks OK. It's on the left side, under the platform, as you face the headboard in the 42GX.

Water leaks

The trip was to take a friend and his wife to visit a family member that was not doing well. Stayed at a park in winter garden but did not visit any of the disney parks. Encountered a lot of rain on the way home and had many leaks from the front cap. water got into the electrical cabinet and knocked out the new thermostat. Dried it out and found that removing the fuse it started working again. when i got home I cleaned it with DEox spray and let it dry in the sun. I hope in time it doesn't corrode. I'm sure it will but I plan to keep my old unit handy in the event it does.
The roof cap line has some cracks but the build up of sealant is getting to be to much. I'm looking over some U-tube posts to maybe remove the mound as far as i can and put down a fresh layer. Some cracks are visible around the Dish mount as well. I have been thinking about removing the dish completely and replacing it with a Dish network dome. (I don't like how Direct tv adds those trial things and the higher cost after the first year)
Thanks for the previous posts on the battery's and the plumbing. Those are issues I need to consider as well.
Hopes you all are doing well and safe...

Darn, not good with leaks. I have had a few surface cracks but otherwise the Dicor is holding, and we had a 5-inch rain recently camped and no leaks anywhere which was really nice.

I have touched up a few cracks with self-leveling and one place where a dead limb tore some in the Tetons camping.

There are quite a few U tube's on how to remove the caulk and start over. If it is reasonably level some use Eternabond tape might be a good option.

The only place I have used it was on my long slide topper tube that kept wanting to slide apart. Worked well there

Is your Roof white?

I have used DirecTV since i had the extra package and it didn't cost anything for the Tuscany.

They raised my rate and I canceled and went to Streaming totally now as we have fiber in the homes and shop.

So far haven't missed the Satellite TV in the Tuscany at all and have movies or streaming to fill any down time when we're not out and about.

Glad the new thermostat was OK.

2015 Tuscany

Hello,
I have a 2015 Tuscany 40EX that has developed several problems.
1. Will not start on all the time. Changed the starter but did not fix the problem!
2. Leveling Jack's will not go down
3. Living room slide will not move. I can hear the manifold when the switch is pushed.
Any ideas?
All batteries have been replaced

In the bin that holds your house battery's look for a small block the positive wire goes to. It might be mounted on the side wall.. On the side there is a mall piece of plastic sticking out, Maybe red or yellow in color, Push it in and you should hear a thud. I found this this hard way when I was stuck at a camp site for hours with my slides out.
Let me know if this was of any help..

==Mike

What is your chassis battery voltage when attempting to start?

Is the grid heater kicking in?

Are your fuel filters clean and no drips?

Does it seem to spin/turn at typical speed when engaging the starter?

Are you getting low voltage after you attempt to start or during the attempt?

Any smoke when spinning the starter?
