I’d suspect a problem with gas flow if it started doing this. It may not be to everyone’s liking but it is well made, compact and very effective at what it does.
I absolutely have nothing against Blackstone, which I don't have but a friend of mine has and I think is a product of very good quality.

My note is that many RV manufacturers used to supply a grill with the RV and then changed to the griddle ignoring that they are tools for different purposes and most of the customers may not know that and would assume the griddle is a better grill, which generates false expectations and therefore frustration.

I personaly have a Coleman Roadtrip as a grill where I can change the grills for a solid cast Iron griddle when needed...
Can't do eggs over a grill, can't properly grill a steak , in a griddle...

Geez EA I wouldn't blow holes in it at the range! You ought to put it on Craigs list and get a few bucks out of it. Or maybe trade it for a growler of a good IPA

Throw it in the classifieds and get a few bucks back.Ssounds like there may be a market for it. I have the Tailgater which is both a griddle and grill and it seems fine.

A grill is more versatile.

Didn’t think about trading for a growler. My neighbor asked if he could buy it. Maybe I’ll work a trade for a bottle of three pepper vodka from the local distillery.

Yes I can fry an egg on my Weber Q. Use a grill mat. Works great. Easy clean up. Haven’t tried an omelette.

Done an omelette quite a few times on the griddle plate.

This is the plate I bought for the Weber

This is the Lodge I bought for the old Aussie. It worked great on the Weber as well.

Used my Weber Q as a grill and a great oven. As an oven, I used a small aluminum tray with a rack to roast chicken or beef. I put a oven temperature gauge in it and crack the lid to maintain the proper temperature. Great for roasting during the summer.

My vote is on the Blackstone. We have a 28 at home and a 22 on the MH. Cook everything fromeggs, omelets, and potatoes in the morning, to vegetables, burgers, and yes an occasional steak (they are better on a charcoal grill).
They are two different products. Like a microwave vs a conventional oven. Similar but different.
I won't give up my Blackstones.

Portable Smoker or Grill?

I thought Real Rangers ate their meat raw. Why would Traeger name a cooking device after people who eat uncooked flesh?

We have a Traeger PTG+, now discontinued, and have only used it a few times. We're impressed with the Traeger, just not favorably. I don't smoke meat while we're traveling, preferring to do that at home with the Big Green Egg.

After we got our new MH, we bought a Nexgrill 2 burner stainless steel table-top portable propane gas grill. Cooks steaks just as tasty as our Alfresco grill at home. Link:

I use a Sam's Club grill similar to that. We generally just do burgers, brats etc. on the grill & nothing too exotic (can't afford good steaks at current prices ). The PIA factor is setting it up on a table with folding legs. I've actually considered a Coleman RoadTrip, but don't know the advantages/drawbacks that would apply in our situation.

I like to do breakfast eggs, sausage, potatoes - good American style breakfast... the only problem is finding a good griddle plate that actually fits our grill, AND heats evenly. Aluminum seems to be uneven... thinking cast iron may work better?

For us, a decent sized self standing hybrid grill/griddle might be the best option.

Edit: Looks like the RoadTrip got consistent bad reviews for build quality... handles falling off, poor design etc. Keep looking...

The range would not allow me to use the Blackstone for a target. They are afraid a round will uncontrollably ricochet off a metal surface. I’ll figure out another way to send it off to its rightful place as king of the junk pile.

Blackstone Griddle

We had a small Blackstone Griddle purchased through credit card rewards and used it about three times. Beloved son in law mentioned he was going to get one. We agreed and he became the happy new owner who uses it a lot and really likes it. The less stuff we carry in our motorhome the happier we are!

Riddle me this, if the Blackstonee is so good why did the guy in the 5ver across from us have to finish cooking his breakfast on an electric griddle?

Answer, another victim of the flame outs in a 8 mph wind. He was using a new LP bottle on a BS 22 inch.
