Even with a statewide mask mandate and occupancy limits the local saloon is as full as pre-covid days.
Yup - same thing here in Monterey County! Let's all get together at the pub...large group sizes, but it's outdoors...but it's also a bunch of people who otherwise don't live together, so there's that

We head back to California later this week. We are in Texas picking up our new 24F. We figured if they don't let us back in (which we know they will) we will just break our RV in a bit more (love this thing just in the overnight we have had it). We are hoping parking on the Rincon for the day is still allowed so we can enjoy our RV a bit.

The camping being shut down sucks. Our state is are all wacked out. They fell back a bit here in Texas it is more like what California has been doing since the color schemes. This new scheme feels a bit Hunger Games with the state broken into regions (Districts).

Until I see it writing, from the news feed yesterday, I'm going to assume the op is wrong.
A good stirring, but I'd rather see it.
And if he's wrong....

I think you meant to say "truly independent news source"; didn't you?
If I say, "Fox News": someone else will just say "CNN"...

Site team can pull only the political post and those quoting it.
Maybe a bit of a stay at banned camp.

If you can't help yourself from saying things you know are wrong....

Op post is just as bad:
I heard(yet did not bother to do the slightest research)

I think, due to the op being wrong, and some can't bother to research so they band wagon, the whole thread should be removed.
It's infactual, inflamatory, ill-thought, illegitimate.

It's bandwagoneering.

Yes
I read same this morning and viewed announcement on TV.
Includes all “Parks”, I assume for kids recreation.
The SoCal region (which includes Ventura, L.A, Orange, SanDiego, SanBerd & Riverside counties) is a huge area with many parks, and city/county/state camping areas.

It looks to begin tonight, being enforced tomorrow.

It’s a “stay @ home” order.

PS-guess we’ll drive to AZ for a few days so we can experience freedom

Parks.ca.gov says the following below updated yesterday. If you are in Southern California I guess be watching for emails regarding reservations and refunds associated with those parks. The Bay Area just stated in the news that they will subscribe ahead of time to the stay at home order so I guess they will be right behind as well. It’s fluid and changing but certainly full timers I assume are going to have plan ahead based on the fast changing landscape of park closures.

“Due to the critical need to stop the COVID-19 surge and prevent overwhelming regional ICU capacity, the public is advised that the closure of campground sites may be made with little advance notice. Whether your specific reservation will be canceled depends on whether the selected campground is located within one of the impacted regions. If the campsite is within an impacted region, your reservation will be canceled. Affected reservation holders will be contacted by the state’s reservation system -- ReserveCalifornia -- via email and provided with a refund.”

I mis-spoke...

Parks are open for day use. I suppose that includes ocean beaches.

But kids playgrounds are NOT available.

Last stay-at-home order...the beach (& beach parking) were closed in several counties and all playgrounds were roped-off.

This is the type of nonsense orders that cause people to push back, along withe the hypocrisy shown by the talking heads and their gubermint.

I understand the need to close off kids' playgrounds where the goober drooling, snot gobbering is done, but what sense does it make to not allow you to stay in YOUR RV overnight in the same park that you're allowed to be in during the day? Does Covid explode at night?

And some more hypocritical nonsense for you:

NPR reported this morning that 85%
of Californians will be told to stay home until after Christmas...

We stayed at a park in Illinois in August where we were told that we were not allowed to be outside of our unit and that included campfires, cooking and eating outside. Every other site was roped off and all of the picnic tables had been removed from the sites. I asked if we might be permitted to take the dog outside and they said we could only be outside for long enough for the dog to relieve himself, we couldn’t leave our site and we had to wear a mask. No exceptions and we’d be asked to leave for any violation. It cost $60/night and I commented that it seemed high. They said we should be glad they were open at all and they had to charge that much to offset the lower traffic. I about bit my tongue off trying to avoid a smarta$$ response. Left first thing in the morning. Seriously stupid rules!!

I wonder if they had a clue as to why they had, "lower traffic"?

The times in which we live, I fear. I really do try to understand and support people who are desperately afraid but sometimes it’s hard....
