'The web said'.

And I don't doubt the sign thing or the fire thing .
A vernerated member here decided, last week or so, to tell us how site destruction caused by him was a cost of the camp site doing business and he'll do that destruction without regard for the next guy or cost to the site.
He seemed rational in all other respects.

The fire starter could have been vermin or venerated, clergy or cretin.
The guy parking in the no parking area might be a judge or cpa or cardinal.

A fundamental:
You have a societal obligation to be intelligent.

Not any more...and they're buying motorhomes....
You are an ass. That is not what I said. I did not say that I go to campgrounds and set fires and destroy the place. I said damage to campgrounds is part of the cost of doing business and responsible owners take that into account when coming up with fee schedules. I know this post will bring the ire of the moderators but anyone that reads your posts realizes you are a dick!

Why don't we all just put down the weapons, and enjoy a constructive discussion of how to best avoid the crowds...

X2! If you don’t like a member’s posts don’t read them. If you REALLY don’t like them you can block them. Otherwise just let them slide by and enjoy the dialog.

Agree to a point. If said member is giving bad advice, making false accusations and being a total ass, then said member needs to be taken care of.

Hopefully this new found “love” of the national parks will help to get people to realize that they still need funding.

You know sometimes I will stream one of those free Roku movie streaming channels for free movies with some of the worst movies possibly imagined , they can be so horrible, that they are hilarious. I know I should not watch or block them; but I just never can

We are going to Mount Rushmore in the middle of August and will travel with our neighbors who tow a trailer. Besides the influx of many new RV owners there is also Sturgis going on just prior to our trip so things are busy.

We are all retired military which allows us to set up camp on Ellsworth AFB where we made reservations without any problems.

I guess my point is if you are a veteran or still active in the Armed Forces you might want to consider staying on a military base and then just do day trips. The camp grounds on any base are usually well maintained, clean and very safe.

LOL (did you click my link?) the movie "Ed Wood" is a Tim Burton film about the making of Plan 9. It is quite entertaining and tragic if you've seen Plan 9.

I saw "Plan 9" on Svengoolie...
and now that you mention the connection: I recall him talking about that movie.
I'll look it up: Thanks for the tip!

Just back from 2 weeks in Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Jackson Hole. Crowds everywhere but hey, it's still vacation and it was great!

I also see the howitzers are still cooking off here on the forum....
