The warm relay IS the interlock as per the rapid camp schematics.
Pin 87 goes nowhere.
Pin 87a is charged in the normally open position.
At this point life should be good, BUT this relay allows power to 86,87a, and 30, thus relay thinks the ignition is on.
manually closing the contacts, all 3 have 0 ohms…a dead short.
Will wait for new one and let you all know.
THANKS very much to all.

Someone say beer time
Terry
The relay has only two contacts, a NO and NC. Only one is closed (with #30 as the common) at anytime.
So, with the relay de-energized, there will be no voltage across coil terminals 85/86, do not measure from one point to ground in this instance, measure those two terminals. I am assuming there is voltage to the coil ONLY when the key turned "on".

Without seeing the complete schematic, I will say the relay is energized with the ignition turned "on" and this opens the contact from 30 to 87a, cutting off the power to the slides. Terminal 87 has no wire cuz with the relay energized (ign "on"), there will be power on it.

You say the relay is warm... with the ignition off?? This confuses me.

Sir,
I’m probably saying it wrong, but, with the internal short is in the relay, 86, 87a, and 30, all see voltage when testing with 85 as ground. Thats to say with the NO position voltage passes from 87a to 30 and NC pin 30 still passes voltage to 87a. Pin 87 has no connection in the plug. So NC Would send pin 30 voltage to nowhere.
Thus an internal short, all pins have voltage no matter the state of the relay, NC or NO.
Hope that helps.
Terry

Ps. I suck as a teacher.

If there is voltage on those three terminals, 30, 87 & 87a, one of those should go to the slide switch (well, not 87) and the slides should operate, non?

Slides (2) wont work

Hey Terry….. not to be a PITA….. what model is your Chateau Super C and did the slidea always work with the engine off?

The newer Omni / Magntiudes all need to have the engine running and e-brake set because of the heavy slides w/ the 500:1 motors. The house batteries need boosted by the alternator in order for the relay to engage and allow the slide motors to operate.

You might have 300:1 motors and don’t need the engine running on your model. My old Outlaw 29H had a small slide with the 300:1 motors and the engine did not have to be running to engage the slide.

Now the awning will not operate with the engine running as is the case with about all of them.

Chris,
First off your never a pain in arse,
Four winds super c 35SD
Yes engine off, slides work.
89% confident I found the problem. The engine interlock relay connected to the happy camp looks like the problem.
On an old post, when slides were inop, awning inop, and stairs go in no matter what…they found an interlock problem. They ended up with a bad happy camp board.
The relay for mine was warm to the touch, so I tested it.
Relay out of spec on the ohms test. And on the schematics, I believe my 12 volts for the slide operation is in this circuit.

Don’t be too quick in ruling out the Rapid Camp module. This post has some excellent hints on how to troubleshoot it.

Ok, update time.
Slides now work
So does awning and steps.
What DOES NOT work now…..
No power to the lippert leveling system.
How did I fix it, I unplugged all of the estart wires.
There were 3, 1 went to a fuse 7.5amp, then to the trombetta.
1 went to the trombeta e start pin.
1 I, yep me, had the 3rd one hooked up to battery positive.
WRONG
it back feed, and heated the interlock relay, thus out of spec.
Changed relay. Now all works for the slide problem, now jack issue.
Where oh where does the 3rd wire go.
The wire plug is in the battery tray area, with my trombetta.
Its a 3 wire, labeled A, yellow wire going to a fuse 7.5 then to the trombetta B, yellow wire going to trombetta, C, now it goes nowhere.
Cannot find out where it goes.
Put test probe on C then touch a battery positive, light works.
Put positive volts on C, jacks work, slide interlocks.
Aparetly when changing my trombetta, I lost a wire.
Terry
P. Please yell at me softly, I did not take a picture prior to repair.

Problems solved.
Well, turns out I was fighting 2 problems. I had just replaced the trombetta switch, and I FAILED to take a picture before taking it appart.
I mis-wired the new one.
The wire caused the ignition lockout to turn on. We know this because the inter lockout was hot.
Which in turn, when my refrigerator stopped working, I went to open the slides…..no work
With that problem, I tested other things….no leveling jack turn on.
I am screwed.

If you are following this, heres your laugh. I take full responsibility for the problem.
NEVER do a repair without taking pictures!!!!

Thor Customer Service, and the brainiacs here, we solved the problems.
Shout out to Joelianna, Leslie, and Kyle. They went above and beyond.

#1 mis wired ignition wire on trombetta. That was the hard one.
Find the burnt relay, easy, the hot one.
Lippert controller had no chassis voltage. Yikes.
The lippert controller is powered my 12 volt chassis power. The wire goes from controller to drivers slide firewall to ?
That made it a Ford issue. The hunt begins.
Pictures show wires going to ford wires.
I got lucky, the wire code on the ford wires sent me to the problem, #10 fuse on the passenger side floor fuse box. There it was dead.

1 pic of thor to ford wireing
2 the relays located under bed
3 controller board with the white and red wire for power.

Total parts, 1 relay, 1 10amp mini short fuse, my time and your entertainment

Thank you all
